Homolje Grill — Restaurant in Vienna

Great place for meat. We came by to get some takeaway. There was a little bit of a language barrier but there was a helpful lady who translated for us and a couple of the staff spoke English. They were quite busy at the time, it looked like a wedding. we ordered a schnitzel, a large mixed grill, stuffed chicken drumsticks and Cevapcici sausages. The meals were huge, filling two of the large aluminium platters. The mixed grill had the drumstick as well as the sausages so it was a really nice dish to have to try everything. I quite liked the schnitzel and the meat patty. The other BBQ items were also really tasty. The only issue was that it was a bit salty for my liking so it would have been nicer with more bread. We had dinner upon arriving in Vienna, as it was the only open restaurant nearby. The atmosphere was simple and welcoming. We ordered a mixed grilled meat platter, which was well-prepared and flavourful. Their Ajvar stood out, rich and perfectly balanced. The portions were generous, and the service was efficient. The restaurant specialises in Balkan cuisine, offering traditional dishes at reasonable prices. It was a good start to our stay, and we would consider returning for another meal. Se ci si trova a Vienna e si vuole una grigliata mista, fuori dal Centro, a soli 8 minuti dalla fermata Wien Oper, ma anche partendo da altri punti della Ringstrasse (direzione Laurentzgasse nel 5° distretto, Margareten) con il tram n. 1 o con il 62 si raggiunge la stazione Laurentzgasse (sotterranea), si sale su e "Homolje Grill" ce l'hai dall'altra parte della strada principale. Avevamo prenotato per le 20,00 ed il nostro tavolo era riservato, all'esterno. Piatti della cucina serba ma in genere dell'est Europa Balcanico. La grigliata era il motivo principale ma mi hanno attirato i Sarmi (presenti in tutta la cucina balcanica ma anche greca e turca), un involto in foglia di cavolo lavorata allo scopo, contenente riso ed altri ingredienti, ottimi per accompagno in attesa della grigliata. Una porzione, tre grossi Sarmi, serviti accompagnati, secondo il gusto e se le si vuole usare, con una panna acida e una piccante. Buoni, da provare, costo porzione € 5,60!!! Arriva la grigliata (la carne e le salsicce le avevamo ispezionate nel banco frigo al momento della prenotazione) ed è subito chiaro che è abbondante per quattro persone. Molto buona e anche ad annaffiare con più di mezzo litro di buona birra si arriva a fatica a terminare il tutto. 28 euro per quattro persone, 7 euro a testa (un solo wurstel in un panino per strada costa più di 4 euro, da evitare). Il conto totale, 2 porzioni di Sarmi, 4 di grigliata, 6 birre da 1/2 litro, 15 euro a persona.
