I've never been treated so badly in any other café on this planet - and I've been almost everywhere especially in Europe, just for the record. I ordered a 5€ capuccino and after 5min I finished it the waitress asked me to leave if I wouldn't order anything else cause they have "reservations". There were more tables available inside and outside. I was quite astonished cause I just finished the capuccino and was intending to order something to eat as I told her but not feeling it was the time for it yet. She said in that case I could stay. After a while I ordered some vegan pancakes, she brought them to me and while I'M STILL EATING, she approaches me again saying I've got to leave. I said what?? Why? I'm having my meal, I didnt even finished it, that's insane. What's happening really? She arrogantly answers "it's my job", I couldn't believe what I was going through there and I just said "well, if it's your job you should talk to your manager cause this is a terrible way to treat a customer, and a terrible service. You have to tell the client beforehand that they'll have yo go throught this, they might not want to stay in that case". Another waitress passes by and tells her to leave it and allow me to stay. She left but honestly, I couldnt. I just left the pancakes on the plate and left paying inside. I'm still in shock. I paid 14€ for something I couldnt even eat, I could have ordered more. She kept being arrongant and saying it was her job, not apologies, nothing. And again, many tables inside and outside. I told her this was unacceptable cause I'd rather stay inside if I was told previously for the sake of peace of mind and not being bothered every 5min and not being able to finish what I was eating, which means I even paid for something I didn't have. Her answer - you can take away. I'm still not believing the level of crazyness and the horrible service. Humans treat each other terribly for the sake of what really? Money, capitalism, stupidity, ignorance, evil... what really? Because I can't grasp the reason on this one.
Edit after this shocking response - in german, btw, which is interesting. Just to say thay this is not true and a response full of lies. I'm astonished, speechless. This never, ever happened. What kind of people are you guys, really? wow, simply wow. Insane. Let's keep it this way. People decide how to live their lives, from which values and your service and tis answer full of lies creating such a scenario that didnt exist just prove me right. I'm...
Read moreVery poor experience despite great location and decent food
KLYO Wien used to be one of my favorite spots for a simple brunch and to enjoy the amazing location. The food is decent, the location is fantastic — and that’s why I’ve come here multiple times.
Unfortunately, the organization and the attitude of the male host who worked today (not the guy from my last visit — he was cool) are the reason I won’t be coming back. We had a reservation at 11:00 and arrived 15 minutes early. The restaurant was completely empty — every single table was free — yet we were made to wait in the lobby along with about ten other increasingly irritated guests while the host acted as if he was managing something complicated.
It doesn’t make any sense to keep everyone waiting in the lobby just to let everyone in at the same time — and then we all have to get our reservations checked again and order drinks at the same time, creating even more unnecessary waiting. All of us were just standing there like in a kindergarten, when you could have easily seated us and sold us extra drinks while waiting. This kind of artificial waiting doesn’t make your place feel exclusive — it only shows a lack of flexibility and customer-centric thinking.
Maybe to you this seems like good organization, but from the guest’s perspective it really isn’t — it’s just a lack of basic flexibility and imagination. Perhaps if you rethought the approach and tried putting yourself in the guests’ shoes instead of the kitchen’s or the male host’s, you’d realize how frustrating it feels.
Other servers are nice and friendly, but sadly this experience ruined it for me. It’s a shame, because the potential is there, but the organization and guest experience deserve no...
Read moreDear Friends, another critic coming up:
Ambience: 🛳 This restaurant is located very near to the first district of Vienna. With its view on the Danube canal it is definitely a well enjoyable experience. 10/10
Food:🥑 Very delicious especially the avocado bread and the vanilla pancakes (a little dry but really just a little) additionally we took a chai latte and a rosemary orange tea - both very delicious 9/10
Staff: 🙋♀️ With such a high standard food and ambience I would have really expected the staff to be great. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. We went for breakfast and called beforehand to make sure that there’s a table for us. They assured us that there was and that we don’t have to make a reservation. As soon as we entered the restaurant they immediately told us that the was no free table available and that we have to sit at the high seat section (REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE especially if you’re on a date with another person - they assured us after I told them that I actually called, that we are going to get a table within the next 10 minutes but unfortunately the waiter did not offer us anything and was even rude after we asked to sit on a table again.
MAKE SURE to make a RESERVATION: regarding the reservations: the table is only reserved for 2h so - if you go there with a group of friends and plan on staying longer please tell them otherwise you’re going to be moved to a high table again 😂
Conclusion: I was really disappointed with the staff that’s why I didn’t feel very comfortable sitting and eating in this restaurant therefore 3 stars. If you don’t really care about that and just go there for the food 🥘...
