Strandbar Herrmann — Restaurant in Vienna

The atmosphere is cool. A beach right in the center of town is just a cool place to be in summer. The food is also alright. What is not good is the horrible service. The guys/gals picking up the used dishes are great. What is not great is the bar staff. You have to pick up the dinks yourself and for that you have to wait in line for sometimes up to 15 minutes. And all that for getting regular overpriced bottled beer (no tab beer available). And the audacity of the staff to demand a tip (with signs and words) after each beer is just out of this world (the card machine also asks for that if you did not add one verbally before). For what should I tip? For handing me an overpriced beer from the fridge? For the mediocre Aperol from a warm glass? For chatting with your colleagues for 3 min despite the 10m long queue? No, that is defently something that shifts the experience from good to mediocre at best. I'd like to tip the dish...

What an awesome SUMMER day getaway! Beach sand awaits, BEST ever Mojitos... umbrellas, deck chairs, along side a section of many regions of Vienna's cleverly engineered Danube ! I have YET to research, digest and ENJOY the MANY MANY areas within everyone's reach - thanks to Vienna's well planned and managed Public Transport network! Does sometimes require a little "foot work', which if like myself, is impeded by knees.... but so worth it at the closed destination! These images were en route TO Strandbar.... more pics to follow.... Summer time.... includes Free (weekends) intro Shiatsu massage. Line up, enter name, enjoy... Winter time, aparently sand is replaced with ICE for skating alongside the Danube, will have to check up in the months to come... will add the Strandbar...

Really disappointing experience.

I honestly didn’t expect to leave a bad review, but one staff member completely ruined the day for me! I was clearly next in line at the Maine bar (even other customers said so), but the middle-aged guy with grey hair just ignored me and served others who came after me.

His attitude was honestly awful, rude and dismissive for no reason. It shocked me and even a few people around me noticed how off it was. Just bad vibes.It’s a shame, because one person like that can really ruin the whole experience. Maybe Racism played a role who knows with these middle aged men… Hope the place does...
