The atmosphere is interesting and very beautiful, although it's located in the corner of one of the busiest streets in Vienna. Once you're inside, it's very nice and there is AC for super hot days.
UPDATED 2022. Very mediocre place with awful service. Over hyped. I could easily find at least 3 more restaurants in the vecinity that are 5 times better than this one and offer a friendlier service, space, not overcrowded and tastier food. (Le Burger ;)!!!)
POSITIVE: Bun selection, sauces and they now offer free vegan patty exchange which is wonderful. The fondant cake with Joghurt is very tasty. The decoration and atmosphere still is nice.
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: The tables and seats. Why are they so small and if you are even two people you cannot share a table without moving things around and playing Tetris. It's very annoying. Also, you don't really want to stay for long because it's very uncomfortable to seat there on a bench with someone else also on your back from the table behind you. No space. One friend ordered the chocolate cake WITH ice cream. After a long time of waiting and waiting, the dessert came in without ice cream and the waitress didn't even know. We asked her and she said: "really? Should id add ice cream ?" And well, ice cream is IN the description of the dessert and in the photos, so... Yeah. And then she brought the ice cream, which was a tiny portion, very laughable. Disappointing... And it wasn't really that good 😐. Skip the chocolate cake. Order the chocolate fondant 🌟 The service. Oh. Well. We waited 20 minutes for the waitress to remember es wanted to pay. Then she had issues with the order and remembering what we ordered. Long story short: we missed our train. 30 minutes to pay.
Really disappointed that after all the COVID and all, there is no room for standing up and sitting down again without annoying everyone, no good service (still!!!! Very slow...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a cozy and welcoming place to enjoy a good burger, Peter Pane is definitely worth a visit. During our visit, we were impressed by the overall quality of the food and the ambiance, though there were a few small drawbacks that kept the experience from being perfect.
First, let’s talk about the star of the show: the burger. The patty was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful, and the combination of ingredients was well-balanced, making every bite satisfying. However, we noticed that the cheese could have been melted better—it was slightly underdone, which detracted a bit from the overall texture. On the plus side, the burger arrived quickly, which was a pleasant surprise considering the busy holiday atmosphere.
The fries were also good—crispy and well-seasoned. That said, they weren’t the best fries we’ve ever had, but they certainly did their job as a solid side dish.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is definitely a highlight. The decor is stylish and inviting, making it a comfortable spot to relax and enjoy your meal. The staff was friendly, attentive, and handled the busy day with professionalism.
Unfortunately, our experience wasn’t without a hiccup. While the burgers came out promptly, the dessert we ordered took a very long time to arrive. This was a bit frustrating, especially since we had such a quick service for the main course. However, we understand that it was January 1st and the restaurant seemed to be short-staffed, so it’s likely an exception rather than the rule.
Overall, Peter Pane is a great spot for a burger night out, and we would definitely return. With just a few tweaks—like ensuring all components of the burger are perfectly prepared and addressing delays for desserts—it could easily become a top-tier dining experience. For now, it’s a solid choice with room for...
Read moreCurrently making a trip around Europe and landed in Vienna as the last city before I head back to Portland, and WOW...all I can say is, I've tasted burgers for the last 20 years or so, and thought I had reached all the great flavors out there. Well, I am so happy to have been proven wrong by this hotspot located in the nook of Vienna.
-- (story time) --
I stumbled out of a metro station after I had been walking with my partner for hours around the city. we were exhausted and were looking for a place to have an early dinner. We happened to find ourselves in front of Peter Pane, where an incredible deal before 17:00 was offered, which we got. I love sticking to the classic cheeseburger, which certainly exceeded my expectations. My partner got something more adventurous, with chicken and guac, which he ravished under five minutes. (and not because he was starving, it was that good). They even had sweet potato fries as an option, which can be hard to perfect, and they got this down to a T.
Incredibly clean atmosphere, with luscious real-looking trees (could actually be real, didn't touch it), bathrooms were also sparkling clean, and our food and check were delivered as immediately as possible. 5 stars...
