Pia's Wohlleben – Hausgemachte Bio-Spätzle is AMAZING. This was our last night in Vienna and we wanted a vegan friendly authentic restaurant, and we surely found the best, friendliest place in the whole of Vienna. The place is quaint, warm, with a perfect patio set with string lights and cozy atmosphere. Inside, soft music was playing setting a comfortable mood. The awesome people running the place are fantastic, welcoming, smiling and so caring. She recommended the (v) cheese and (v) chorizo spätzle with a side of crunchy salad with balsamic vinegar and pumpkin seed oil. The spätzles were so delicious. The cheese was creamy and the chorizo amazing. The pumpkin seed oil was pronounced and an excellent choice. My friend had the prosciutto and cheese spätzle and she reports that it was an excellent choice. We finally shared the poppy seed and plum compote spätzles even though we were so full, but we wanted to try the sweet dishes. We are so glad we did! I definitely recommend trying the desserts! They are all made vegan for everyone to be able to enjoy them. If you find yourself in Vienna looking for a perfect spot for a delicious dinner, do not hesitate. You will have an amazing experience and a delicious meal you...
Read moreA must try for tourists!! I can't stress how much I recommend this as a spot to try something new and authentically Austrian. I had the camembert spatzle and it was delicious, felt like good, homecooked, comfort food. Perfect on a cold Autumn evening. The side salad was also lovely and a great lift to the creaminess of the spatzle. Service was fast and very friendly, made me feel very welcome. It's also great that they offer so many vegetarian and vegan options as well for those with dietary restrictions. The sheet cake I had was lovely and soft and came with stewed plums: very seasonal. The location is great to check out after a day at the Belvedere Gallery etc. I now want to return to try more flavours of Spatzle, and now interested to try the dessert offerings as well. Would definitely recommend and even regret not coming for a second...
Read moreSuch a beautiful little hidden gem! Vienna doesn’t usually have many vegan friendly spatzle places, and Pia’s Wohlleben specializes in spatzle — they have an entire vegan menu as well. The pumpkin seed oil is specially sourced as are all of the vegetables, and everything is extremely fresh: this says a lot given how fresh food in Europe is on average. Everything was absolutely delicious and flavorful as well, and the texture of the spatzle was incredible: we also had a very refreshing salad with a balsamic vinaigrette. There are several non-spatzle options as well — the owners are also extremely kind and friendly, and made sure that we had many options we were comfortable with....
