The coffee was, against all odds and the general indifference of the universe, rather good. It had that peculiar quality of tasting exactly like coffee, which is a surprisingly rare trait in coffee. There was a sort of smoky sourness to it, the kind that makes you briefly consider using words like “notes” and “undertones” before realizing you have no idea what those actually mean.
Accompanying it was a pear ricotta cake, a combination so simple and improbable that it felt as though the laws of dessert physics had been gently but firmly ignored. It tasted like something a very kind, slightly distracted grandmother would make if she had somehow stumbled upon the secrets of effortless perfection.
The coffeehouse itself was small. Not “charming little nook” small, but “this may actually be a pocket dimension” small. Read moreStopped by for a quick coffee and was pleasantly surprised by the quality—smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. They also have a selection of cute coffee-themed souvenirs and accessories, which make for nice little gifts.
However, the atmosphere was a bit off. The keeper wasn’t particularly warm or welcoming, which took away from the overall experience. A smile or a bit of friendliness would’ve gone a long way in such a small, personal space.
