The coffee was, against all odds and the general indifference of the universe, rather good. It had that peculiar quality of tasting exactly like coffee, which is a surprisingly rare trait in coffee. There was a sort of smoky sourness to it, the kind that makes you briefly consider using words like “notes” and “undertones” before realizing you have no idea what those actually mean.

Accompanying it was a pear ricotta cake, a combination so simple and improbable that it felt as though the laws of dessert physics had been gently but firmly ignored. It tasted like something a very kind, slightly distracted grandmother would make if she had somehow stumbled upon the secrets of effortless perfection.

The coffeehouse itself was small. Not “charming little nook” small, but “this may actually be a pocket dimension” small. Sitting down meant immediately engaging in a brief but meaningful social contract with the person next to you: you were now acquaintances, possibly even allies, bound together by the simple fact that you were both attempting to exist in the same square foot of space while balancing cups of scalding liquid. The Good Coffee Society is run by awesome people who love coffee, and their passion is translated into the preparation, presentation, and thought behind their whole brand. They collect crazy beans from all over the world and the selection was - especially for fermented bean lover - on spot. Many beans on filter so I recommend trying that instead of your go-to iced oat latte - this is a place to try cold brew instead. I am not an Ethiopian Origin bean lover at all but their cold brew… was delicious. and Ethiopian. I got a peachy French filter on ice and bought a Strawberry-infused Fermented bean from the same brand. The owner was so nice and just overall amazing vibey person passionate about his job. Stopped by for a quick coffee and was pleasantly surprised by the quality—smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. They also have a selection of cute coffee-themed souvenirs and accessories, which make for nice little gifts.

However, the atmosphere was a bit off. The keeper wasn’t particularly warm or welcoming, which took away from the overall experience. A smile or a bit of friendliness would’ve gone a long way in such a small, personal space.
