Underdog Bar — Restaurant in Vienna

We visited this bar as a group and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. One of our friends had made a reservation specifically for a private area, but when we arrived, we were told it was already occupied and were seated awkwardly in a corridor instead. It was quite embarrassing for our friend and made the whole evening uncomfortable from the start.

Service was unprofessional. When we ordered food, part of it came halfway through our stay and the rest was only served at the very end. This disrupted the entire evening, as we couldn’t eat together or enjoy our time properly.

Additionally, the pricing system was very strange and unfair. There is a minimum charge of 15 euros, even if you only order a drink worth 10 euros – meaning you’re forced to pay an extra 5 euros essentially as a mandatory tip or surcharge. This was not clearly communicated beforehand and felt very dishonest.

To make matters worse, the bartender was aggressive and created a tense atmosphere. I personally felt stressed the entire time and couldn’t enjoy the evening at all.

They also lacked basic supplies like paper towels or hand soap in the restrooms, which shows a lack of attention to hygiene and customer care.

Sadly, I cannot recommend this place. It was supposed to be a fun night out with friends, but instead, it turned into an uncomfortable and disappointing experience. Definitely...

Untruthful and unprofessional! Only if you want to ruin your celebration go there!!

We pre-ordered 30 hot dogs, but only six arrived per hour, guests waited 4!!!!! hours to be served!

We followed the policy on their website bringing our own snacks and drinks (paying the 40% fee), but were suddenly told on-site it wasn’t allowed. Completely untrustworthy!!

The room promised via WhatsApp was given to someone else. We were moved to a small bar area, totally unfit for our 30 guests—and no one informed us beforehand.

Only two bartenders and one server were available for two large parties, caused long waits and chaos.

They charged us extra, after checking with them in the next week, they returned the extra money, but what if we haven't double checked?!

Agreements weren’t kept, communication was poor, and complaints were ignored. We do not recommend this...

So it looks dark, run-down, and grimy. It definitely feels like it, from the menu to the restrooms (which are quite gross). Put that behind you, however, and you’ll be very pleasantly surprised by the rest.

Very friendly and casual waiters will give recommendations and check on you, hand you peanuts and even free shots to start you off. The cocktails, although not super cheap, are delicious and quite unique in variation. Beer is fine, too.

Come here for the hotdogs and you get your money’s worth. A selection of beautiful dog variants, of which you can select two, and get it served with chips and tasty salads, is aptly priced and will leave you satisfied and happy. Great flavours all around.

Just try to sit in the Schanigarten in summer, it’ll make the atmosphere...
