Weinschenke Franzensgasse — Restaurant in Vienna

I have nothing bad to say about the food. I can actually strongly say they have the best burgers in Vienna, but the staff in Franzensgasse is the most disrespectful with foreigners. The waitress didn’t let me and my boyfriend stay in the restaurant beacuse we are not vaccinated although we showed her our genesen/recovered certificate. Moreover, she spoke only in German, even though she knew english very well, and she also didn’t let us speak with her superior/ manager. She had a very arrogant and disrespectful behaviour towards us despite the fact that we even tried to speak german with her. I was eating delivery or from the one in Karmelitermarkt every week, but beacuse that one was closed today we went to the one in Franzensgasse this time. It is a shame, but after the experience of getting kicked out because she simply didn’t want to accept we are COVID recovered after staying in quarantine in Wien, is offensive and even racist I can say, so I don’t know if I will ever eat from their place again.

Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting a restaurant that serves some of the finest burgers I’ve ever tasted. From the very first bite, it was clear that this place takes their craft seriously.

Our server was rude and short with us and when I told them I wanted to pay they just said ok and kept texting on their phone texting for 2 minutes while I just stood there. Finally when I paid they told me the total and said “that’s without tip” to which I said okay to, then when I got my receipt and checked my bank account I saw that they gave themselves a small tip despite me not consenting to that. Food was VERY overpriced. $18 minimum for a fine tasting burger plus an additional $3 for a tiny ramekin of sauce is ridiculous. On top of that, the $18 double cheeseburger only having 1 patty is hilarious. I have never in my 22 years on this earth seen a “double cheeseburger” with only 1 patty.
