I have no idea about what happened. We arrived looking for something to eat and drink and since minute 1 the waitress acted so strangely with us. So happy to speak with the locals and for no reason so rude with us. First she wanted to choose for us where to sit. Why? With all those empty seats...Then said to us they were accepting just cash in a really rude way, and i replied to her I already knew it (There was a sign). After that I just took a menu to see what they were selling and she came to me all nervous saying she was going to bring the menú, cause she was there. I looked at her not getting the point. She got angry cause I took the menú on my own? No idea. After that I tried to be friendly and polite to catch up cause maybe I did something wrong without realising, but she kept being unprofessional and rude. The worst part was watching how she was friendly with other costumers and rude just with us. Never replied to our thanks and even said something to me in german while taking some stuff from the table. She looked at me, said something fast and left. I don't think it was something polite. Again why? For last, my girlfriend went to pay, she is more diplomatic than me ;) . Guess what? The waitress tried to keep 5 euro on a 35 bill without saying anything. Like, really? At that point even my girlfriend got frustrated and made her notice it. And again not politely she gave back the right amount of change. You want a tip? You ask for it like all the other places in Vienna. At that point there was no chance for her getting a tip. Reading the reviews I get the feeling she doesn't like foreign tourists. Want to know the funny part? While all this was happening the music they were playing at the speakers was Italian music and we are Italians. I have no clue about what she had in mind. Sad experience with her. Instead the food was really nice. And I went straight to the cooker to say it in a way she could see me talk to him. He happily appreciated the review on the food. Waitress, I have been a waiter too, you had no excuses to be so rude with us. Friendly advice from someone who worked in the same business? Change your attitude or change job. By the way, she can speak english but she just doesn't want...
Read moreThe food here was actually very good — tasty and well-prepared. However, I found it quite expensive for what we ordered: one burger and one portion of fries to share, and a beer each, for a total of €35.
The real issue, though, was the service. The waitress who served us was very unfriendly, borderline rude, and unfortunately not honest when it came to the bill. I gave her a €50 note to pay for the €35 bill, expecting €20 back and the option to leave a tip, as I had done in all the other places I visited in Vienna. Instead, she gave me only €15 without asking anything — keeping €5 as a tip without saying a word. I understand that tipping is common in Austria, but it should always be requested, not silently taken. It felt very inappropriate and unprofessional.
It’s a shame, because the food was genuinely good, but this experience left a very bad impression. I wouldn’t return, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others — not because of the place itself, but because of how we were treated. Sadly, I also got the impression that the waitress was particularly unfriendly because we...
Read moreNice place with mostly enjoyable food, quite pricy. Owner is a great lady, knows her business. Atmosphere only 3/5 because you sit very close together, within earshot to other guests. Service can be rather slow when the place is well-attended. Food is all fresh and mostly good, spareribs could be more tender and with better seasoning, IOW they are a little tough and bland. Prices are really high for such a place, ribs € 25,- and that's without any side dishes! Big plus: No plastic bottles, all beverages come in glass bottles, even the Coca Cola. Also pretty...
