One of the worst experiences I had in Baku and I’m a local that’s lived here my whole life. I’m generally an optimistic person enjoys all sorts of food and isn’t too picky but I did not like this experience one bit and I feel very disappointed.
The food was low to mediocre - the bread tasted like it was made three days ago. It was genuinely the most stale, dry and hard bread I’ve ever had before in a restaurant. My jaw hurt after chewing it and you couldn’t even rip it apart. The crunchy eggplant salad I ordered was so salty and drenched in sauce, it was really hard to finish but the crunch was there at least. The Lüle was also too salty. It is also just so indecent to price normal food SO high, does two qutabs for 8 manats sound justifiable to you? There is only one bathroom and it is downstairs which is extremely inconvenient for women who wear high heels. For such an overpriced place that is claimed to be ‘fine dining’ there were no napkins which are obligatory in etiquette settings to place over yourself to ensure no spills ruin your clothes. We were celebrating a birthday and they claimed that if you wanted to bring cake then you HAD to order a fruit plate and some sort of tea set (not just tea but some sort of snacks too, as I understood) which is all additional overpriced cost, once again ridiculous policy. All of the workers seemed to have an arrogant, unwelcoming, impatient and passive mindset, as if they were better than the customers and looked away at times when a situation could call to more help, for example when ladies were handling flower bouquets, etc. The music on the speakers on the terrace was too loud and the genre of it was disco so you could barely hear when people were speaking, and if you’re planning to make toasts then forget about trying to hear it and forming a heartfelt memories. Photography with a photographer isn’t allowed for ‘privacy reasons’ which is just silly considering that people pay so much money to have a good view and spend their time pleasantly somewhere, even if it’s public this is a none sense policy that isn’t practiced almost anywhere. Also what is the difference between taking a picture on the phone and taking it professionally? Doesn’t make sense. To put a cherry on top, they ended up overcharging because they added multiple meals that we did NOT order onto the check just because they saw the chance that we had a lot of people and maybe we wouldn’t notice.
I’ve been here a few years ago and didn’t like it that time either. Yes, the view and interior design is absolutely breathtaking and the service is speedy but other than that the experience isn’t pleasant and you can find way more welcoming and tasty places in Baku. It isn’t a chic and elegant ‘fine dining’ experience like it claims to be, it is shameful to have such low food quality and high inconvenience to the customers with such high and...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience at Chayki restaurant. The view of the Caspian Sea was breathtaking, the ambiance was cozy and elegant, and the service was friendly and attentive. The food was amazing too, with fresh ingredients, generous portions, and exquisite flavors. I especially enjoyed the lamb shashlik. It was one of the best meals I ever had in Baku.
If you are looking for a great place to dine in Baku, you can’t go wrong with Chayki restaurant. It is definitely one of the top two restaurants in the city, along with MariVanna. While MariVanna has a more diverse menu, Chayki has a more stunning atmosphere and view. Both are worth visiting and enjoying. I highly recommend Chayki restaurant to anyone who loves good food...
Read moreOne of the worst experience. Very poor service. The waitress were so racist they treated me and my family in a very rude way just because we were a group of Arab , Muslim and teenagers.just as soon as we entered they showed so upset and they started asking each other to take care of us and they made us wait for so long and when we asked them we want to sit on the roof top they said that we only have two hours and leave the restaurant. They also made us pay 100 azn deposit just for desert and coffee. Also when we left they started laughing on us in a very loud and rude way. Unfortunately going back home with a very bad memory and a very bad impression about Baku. This is so sad to have such a restaurant in a wonderful...
