Overhyped. Just don't understand what the hype is all about. Clearly, it is hyped because of its history - that of being over 50 years old. But that's it.
The place is so terribly crowded on weekend mornings that the queues extend till the main road and people are actually willing to wait for upto an hour! My friends and I waited close to half an hour, just because we had made up our minds to try out this place after all.
There is plenty of diverse seating space - from indoor family areas to outdoor streetside. People are actually willing to sit in the streetside area and dine while the rest of the crowd stares them down. I definitely found that jncomfortable and wanted to sit indoors and thankfully got it.
So much waiting and thick crowds, and I thought the food must be something. But what a watering down. The food is absolutely normal and regular - what you get in any damn Bahraini traditional breakfast restaurant anywhere around Bahrain. A hurried dining just because of the pressure of the people waiting outside, cramped seating, and no outstanding food completely beats me as to what is the craze about the place. There are so many better options right next to this place - Emmawash, Naseem, and the beautiful Heritage Village restaurant where you will get the same or even better food, much better ambiance, and dining experience.
The service was good at Haji's - fast and efficient to keep pace with the burgeoning crowd. Well, if it hadn't been then I don't see why one should wait at all.
But not a place I shall return to. Plenty of better options around. I don't even recommend it as a one-time must try experience even for the hype sake, because it is...

If you're in Bahrain and searching for a traditional breakfast experience that won't hurt your wallet, Traditional Haji's Cafe is a solid choice. The atmosphere is simple, local, and buzzing with early-morning energy.
I tried the Beans & Cheese and Egg & Tomato with Cheese — both were flavorful, freshly prepared, and satisfying. Their Saffron Juice is an absolute highlight — chilled, sweet, and fragrant — definitely a must-try. As for the karak tea, being an Indian, I found it a bit too light and bland for my taste, but others seemed to enjoy it, so it likely suits the local palate.
The menu is huge for a breakfast cafe, with everything from keema, dal, liver, omelettes, and balaleet to classic combinations of eggs, beans, and cheese — all priced affordably (around 0.7 to 1.5 BD), and VAT is already included.
🔴 Important Note on Parking: The cafe is located in a tight-lane area where roadside parallel parking is limited and paid. It can be frustrating during busy hours. The better option is to park in the paid parking lot opposite the lane of Haji’s Cafe — it costs 400 fils per hour, but it saves a lot of stress.
What I Liked: ✅ Tasty, freshly cooked breakfast ✅ Huge traditional variety ✅ Reasonable prices ✅ Saffron juice is a gem
What Could Be Better: ❌ Karak tea might not suit everyone’s taste ❌ Parking is difficult on roadside — use paid lot instead
Rating: 4.3 / 5
A great breakfast place for traditional Bahraini and desi-style dishes — just plan ahead for parking, and you’ll have a smooth,...

Foul jarra, or shahshuka or masoob the menu which I know is the basic Arabic breakfast here it's kinda of Pakistani indian cuisine dal kheema, dal fry egg omelet with cheese or scramble egg.
Well we ask the staff about the menu he said this is what we have dal fry, day kheema and a anda bhurji is kinda upset us.
Well as we were starving we thought of trying some dal kheema and fava beans sadly both were just taste less it seems like eating hot canned food the minced meat was also frozen one. The quantity is very less it wasn't enough for 2 person it was serve in a hollow quarter plate A plate in disguise . Bad experience the staff were not helpful we asked for hot naan they served the cold naan which was prepared long back. The staff is manipulating the owners giving them lame excuses for...
