Update: instead of 3 stars as previously posted- I’ll make this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because I tried their beef rendang and it’s highly recommended. Very authentic and super tender and succulent. The marinate was amazing 🤍 and just the right amount of spice. It’s better to dine in than have the food delivered as it’s served fresh. Sad to find out they are moving locations but will definitely visit again 👍🏽
Old post: I grew up eating real authentic kuey teow and nasi lemak and they tried hard to copy the authentic dishes unfortunately it’s the closest you’ll come to authentic Malay food in Bahrain. It’s almost there but not exactly there yet.
The kuey teow’s texture was off as the authentic noodles aren’t normally chewy , it’s normally not translucent and is made of egg noodles. It usually does not have carrots and cabbage but it has spring onions and bean sprouts. The flavours were almost there but it was overpowered with too much spices to the point where it’s barely enjoyable. I suggest separating the spice (optional) they attempted to make it but it needs more improvement ⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5

The prawn shumai was passable; at least the skin was soft, which sometimes is not the case with other establishments, where they serve shumai with a very hard / thick exterior. The crispy beef was a rip off as there was no beef in it. One can almost break the pieces of ‘beef’ as it was mostly flour. The tofu hunan dry was just that - dry and not memorable. The only saving grace was the sichuan fish which came whole but was nicely de-boned. Berna, who took care of us was amazing - handled our orders efficiently and was kind enough to remove the beef from the bill, as we just could not consume it. She was very polite, and professional, without being deferential. She is an asset to the establishment. One more issue is that it took nearly an hour for the order to get to the table - we were the only customers! Perhaps, there were take away orders - I’m not sure of this. Currently they have a 20% for dine in. If you want to try something different, give it a shot but Malaysian Chinese cuisine,...
