Dhaka Dining Diary: Santoor Restaurant

Absolutely amazing place, would definitely recommend to people looking for authentic traditional indian food, including south and north indian food. The restaurant’s aesthetic was amazing. We visited the place during a government holiday, and the whole place was empty, we sat next to the windows, and the view was great, with the yellow tinted windows. It would be great if sound from outside could be blocked, but it is a very minor inconvenience, so it is not a big problem. The staff are very friendly, and many staff members are also fluent in English as well as Hindi. An issue we did face was when they messed up our drink orders, but they handled it very professionally, and provided replacements within 10 minutes. The food was amazing. We ordered a naan basket, daal makhani, malai paneer, and chana masala, and it was definitely more than enough for a family of 4. The only big downside was the daal makhani, which was too sweet, but the chana masala definitely made up for it. We also ordered an Elder Blue and a Mint Mojito, which were really tasty, but it will take you a while to finish it all. The elder blue was sweeter, and the Mojito was more sour, which was great so we could choose the drink depending on our likings. At the end, they also offer paan and toothpicks, which is definitely a great way to end a meal. I think that it would be great if you offered a small plate/bowl of chopped onions while eating, as well as pickle, as we eat our meals with them almost all the time, and they took an absurdly long amount of time to provide a bowl of chopped onions. Overall, an amazing experience, and I definitely recommend everyone to try this restaurant at least once, and you can also book this place for small events. At the end, they offered us paan

Santoor is a household name since 1997 in Dhaka. Known for their amazing Indian dishes, this restaurant is a hit among foodies of any age. Each of their dishes can easily serve 3-4 people. We tried the following dishes: ✅Paper Masala Dosa BDT 500 ✅Plain Raita BDT 370 ✅Charcoal Quastori Kabab BDT 990 ✅Mushroom Kabab BDT 900 ✅Chicken Karai BDT 950 ✅Dal Makkhani BDT 760 ✅Butter Naan BDT 150 ✅Noorjahani Biryani BDT 1120 ✅Cashewnut Salad BDT 700 ✅Mojito Mint Lemonade BDT 325 ✅Strawberry Lemonade BDT 260 I honestly don’t remember the last time I ate so much food! Each of the dishes were flavor packed but it was the Charcoal Quastori Kabab that topped everything; soft, medium spicy, well marinated = delicious! Another hit was the Mushroom dish which was covered in Tandoori Sauce and then grilled to perfection! The Dosa was the most buttery one that I’ve tried recently and trust me, if you aren’t the biggest fan of Dosa stuffings theirs will change your mind. #iffybiffys

I being an Indian and especially a Hindu loved this restaurant for its ambience and the homely feeling atmosphere.....!.I was initially hesitant to have the Veg food but they assured me on the seperate preparation and they did stood up with their quality........The food was excellent, awesome and delicious. The staff were very kind hearted and very responsive always to my confusion with the language of food items and they were best at their service.....I truly and sincerely appreciate the all of the service staff, the waiters and the cashier personnel.....Going back to india just wanted to share the lovely ambience and the hospitality of the Santur Fusion dining people......Out of affection and goodwill, they gave me a complimentary drink also....Hatsoff to you guys, you made my trip the best and a home alike feeling... Enjoyed here at Dhaka.... thank you Dhaka...
