I had high hopes and high expectations of this place since reading their reviews in their facebook page. But I was lost of words after my horrible experience today dining in with my family to celebrate my daughter's birthday. What a disappointment!
Let's begin with ambience of the place. Upon entering, the place had a very unwelcoming atmosphere and their low lighting didn't help to improve the vibe. The staff seemed very unhappy, no greeting (like the way Izakaya greets guests) which really help to make you feel welcome. Zero smile on their faces as they half-heartedly gave me the menu and placed it on top of the plates which i would be using later on. Maybe they couldn't care less how much germs are there on those menus. I had to wipe the plates with alcohol before using it.
Their sense of cleanliness seemed very questionable to me as I went to their washroom. The wash room looked like it was never maintained, to think they are not even a year old. You won't feel like touching the light switches, sink, tissue holder and faucet.
The benches in the dining area smelled weird.
The food doesn't make sense to me. They are almost the same price as Izakaya and other Japanese restaurant I've been to. But unfortunately they didn't even come close as far as quality and taste are concerned. Here's what we ordered:
Wanton Soup: Broth was fine although maybe because of the amount of msg they have put in it, but the absence of meat in the wanton was depressing.
California Maki: the rice was bland, soggy, no komesu flavor whatsoever. However, it's nice that the sushi chef was making it in front of us, it was entertaining to watch.
Yaki Bento: The gyoza was okay. Mixed veggies, good. The rice, no salt. Chicken teriyaki, no salt, it's just like boiled chicken. The prawn tempura and prawn nigiri, smelled bad. I guess the prawns used were not fresh.
Thai Lemon Iced Tea: My all-time-go-to drink in any Japanese restaurant. But this one was an exception. I regretted the decision of ordering it. The liquor was so strong it's almost too bitter to drink. Half of the drink was just ice.
Apple Juice: How much can you screw up an apple-based drink? This is the worst apple drink I've ever had. Please do not order this at all cost.
Bottle of water: I ordered cold but they gave normal temperature.
NEVER EVER...

Read moreWent to Sushi Yaki and ordered Spicy Sake roll, Fried Beef with spicy sauce, Pad Thai, Thai seafood salad, Thai iced milk tea, Mango with Sticky rice. The service was beyond horrible! The menu says 5% vat will be added. Our bill showed 10% service charge instead of 5% vat. The waiter/ manager kept arguing that vat had been substracted instead of admitting that he failed to tell us about the service charge. This is very poor management on behalf of the staff, failing to inform customers of the real prices. To add to it, the waiters were absent minded and kept on laughing at the reception, louder than all customers combined! Ambience is good but they kept switching off the AC every 5 minutes while all customers complained. There are no fans either. Spicy Sake roll : From the picture you can clearly see how overcooked the sushi rice was (literally a paste). What a shame that they serve spoiled food instead of remaking a good batch! 5/10 Fried Beef with spicy sauce: This was a joke. Such little amount for 465tk and it tastes like local potato chips (the spices/seasoning used tasted exactly like Bombay sweets potato crackers). 2/10 Pad Thai: It was average, way too sour. Thai seafood salad: The only thing that was worth it. 8/10 Thai iced milk tea: Couldn't get past my third sip. I love Thai milk tea and this tasted SO wrong. 3/10 Mango with Sticky rice: Maybe they ran out of mangoes and grabbed one from the nearby fruit stalls. The mango was so so bad that it ruined the...
