This place was recommended to us by a friend and was very busy when we first passed by so a couple of hours later when we returned I gladly approached an empty table only to be looked at really unfriendly by the bar lady who questioned what I was doing. Slightly baffled I said we’d like to eat - she said she is not sure and called a waitress (unfriendly nr.2.) by whom we were told off how we should have waited at a designated point (there is no sign anywhere) for to be seated. This was the point where we should have turned around and leave but we were really hungry, so we obediently listened to her and let her confirm our table. Upon taking our order, when I asked what is the catch of the day, she had no clue so made a face, left to ask, came back and said “mahi mahi” with a tone that is used by my teenager when he is in a bad mood. Shall I go on and mention that she sloshed my drink but no apology? Nevermind. Such service we could not imagine, especially in lovely Barbados where we only had so far (1week) really pleasant experiences with lovely, friendly waiters. It left a bitter taste in our mouth. Food was average, pulled pork balls hardly any meat, fish ok but very oily, curry subpar. By the way, two other tables were taken by unsuspecting people like us - one of them (5 people) were ignored successfully until they gave up and left. How dare they just come and sit down… Long rant short, find another restaurant - or make sure you only sit with the waitress’s permission

Tucked away in the charming Chattel Village, this adorable spot is a local treasure! It's right next to the parking lot for Massy’s grocery and Starbucks, so just park there and take a short stroll over. For some history, Chattels were the first homes built by freed slaves, and now they’re home to a collection of cute boutiques and a souvenir shop! The service was as delightful as the food. We popped in for breakfast and were instantly smitten by the menu. We indulged in French toast, French waffles, Greek yogurt with granola, oat milk lattes, and Americanos. But the real star of the show? The Carizma breakfast bowl—packed with chickpeas, tomato and spices, fried egg, crispy bacon, and a slice of toast. It was a breakfast dream! Make sure to stop in, you’ll be happy you did!

We loved our visit to Café Bar Carizma for breakfast. The setting is very relaxing and pleasing on the eye, positioned as it is among the historical (and beautifully restored) chattel house village in Holetown. The service was friendly and attentive despite being busy, and the food seemed appropriately priced for the quality and quantity. The mocha coffee was delicious - totally different (better!) than in London. There are a lot of menu options. This evening we walked back through the chattel village to discover that Carizma was full of diners enjoying dinner, so it’s obviously a popular place through the day.

We absolutely love going to the cafe Carizma! We always get a warm welcome and friendly staff and the owner is also very pleasant and warming. The food is just absolutely gorgeous always! So tasty and excellent portion size. The cafe have entertainment on Tuesdays and a quiz Thursday which is lots of fun and the atmosphere is so nice because the staff get involved with you and make sure that you have a great memorable night which always means a great deal nowadays. You can’t go to Barbados and not go to Cafe Carizma! Its in a beautiful setting in the Chattel Village in Holetown and they even now have a new dessert cafe just to the side of the cafe and its absolutely heavenly bliss!!! The quality and the menu is just excellent so you have to see for yourself! We fully recommend going to the cafe and dessert cafe because you have an all round great experience and that’s what being on holiday is all about. Thank you to all the staff and Anita for really looking after us when we visit....

I ate here many years ago and it was OK. Myself and 4 young teenagers approached the restaurant only to be looked at up and down (I did have beach trousers on and a rucksack) and to be told the restaurant is fully booked.

OK interesting, no one sat at any of the 20 tables. I popped my head in after we ate at the Just Grillin (I recommend) around 1 hour 30 minutes later and there where two people seated. Shame on them. If I had my Rolex, Gucci shoes and my YSL bag on I am sure I would have got a seat. What an absolute Snoot. I give back to the island working with young people I would love to know what they do to give back at Cafe Bar Carizma - you could not pay me to eat here. "Big mistake! Big! HUGE! #prettywoman". I usually go local or high end, please do avoid unless you...
