I visited Zacchio's Beach Bar and Restaurant on Sunday for the Holetown Festival's net throwing competition held on the beach behind and had a good time. The bar offers a view of the ocean, but it can get hot in the evenings without protection from the sun, except for a solitary coconut tree. However, you can enjoy a front-row seat for a beautiful sunset and find relief from the sun by sitting at the bar on the inside. My only critique is I believe offering one unique vegan dish would enhance the menu. Apart from the usual fries, salad and spring rolls, the current vegan options include plantain nachos (which could possibly be veganized if you don't have the sour cream dressing). There's also a mention of tempura veg, although I'm cautious since tempura batter typically contains eggs. Despite this, the atmosphere was great. I went alone but ended up having engaging conversations with a number locals and tourists. A bartender, Brittany, served me a drink we invented called "Blood and Water" and vowed to take the recipe to her grave. Despite being super-busy and understaffed (so there were some understandable delays), the bartenders remained cheerful and interactive. Overall, I had a fantastic time and would highly recommend it.

This was not a good experience. We had a reservation but still had to sit and wait 15 minutes for a table to be prepared. After being seated, we had to wait another 15 minutes before water was served and no one had came to take our order. One person provided water, another came to take the order for the drinks which took about 18 minutes before we could receive them. We saw the drinks on the counter melting then the bartender decided to top up the mudslide with more whip cream and decided to serve us that. The drinks were horrible at that stage. A completely different waiter then came to take our food order. The food came quickly but we thought the serving was for a toddler. Nonetheless, as we proceeded to eat our meal, one would swear we were experiencing symptoms of Covid as it was completely tasteless. We explained to one of the many waiters our concern to which he said he’d get his manager. We never saw him for the rest of the night nor did we see any manager. A completely different waiter came and gave us a piece of paper which turned out to be our bill, we regretfully paid and made our way out! I definitely won’t recommend. Zaccios please do better!!

We arrived a little before 6 PM, just missing happy hour, not a big deal. However, before letting us in, the person at the door mentioned they were “kind of busy tonight” and said he’d check if there was a table available outside. He did manage to find us one, but in all fairness, the restaurant never seemed that busy throughout our visit, and it was a Friday night. We ordered a couple of rum punches, which were tasty, and the girl who served us was lovely. I went for the chicken pizza, not something I usually go for, but I was craving it. Unfortunately, the dough tasted like the kind you’d buy at a grocery store, which was disappointing. On the other hand, the curry dish was quite tasty, and the fish cakes we had as a starter were the highlight, absolutely delicious. We didn’t get to see the sunset due to lots of cloud cover that day, but that’s just nature. Overall, I’d give the experience a 3.5 out of 5.

Where do i even begin? Parking was surprisngly easy.

On the inside i was a bit concerned about how tight the seating was for a large group but i worked itself out because people did not show up.

As I waited on the remaining party the waiter gave us some water (we werent asked if we wanted sparkling or tap) the water was luke warm, there was no chill to the water

Our orders were taken and when we though they were taken to be commenced the waiter indicated he has to wait on everyone to get there to commence (which i can understand) however when he was explaining the menu there were a few things i believe should of been explained better, as opposed to the waiter asking multiple times if you are okay when we were literally sitting drinking fruit punches, the waiter should of explained better what you could and couldnt switch out on the menu. For e.g the Tempura Shrimp on the menu, the waiter brought it with fries even though we specifically asked for truffled fries, the waiter then brought truffled fries seperate and said thats how it comes, yet there's no indication of that on the menu, yet if explained better the truffled fries would of been cancelled.

The food was reasonable in taste but it appeared to be a hit or miss, whilst my order was good all around, my family. Indicsted the fishcakes had minimal fish inside (seemed like flour balls) also, the chicken pasta was bland! No taste whatsoever( we had to dump pepper snd salt into it).. the ceasar salads were good and the burger was okay, the pork belly was amazing!

We were frightened to send anything back to.the kitchen given how long it (the food) takes to come.

The staff was pleasant, even though after seeing a cockroach on your wall, i was concerned with how long one of.the managers/supervisors kept the kitchen door open right below it, whilst trying to get someone handle the situation However i cannot knock the staff they were attentive and overall did a good job. The bartender really made our night with his lighthearted approach, we needed that after everything! His approach really lightened our mood and he was easy and fun to talk to. (He deserves a raise)

My reccomendation to zaccios is

• You have a good location, the ambience is great, work on the seating, have the staff explain the menu a little better snd understand it more (too often he had to run to the kitchen to find our what wasnt and was available) • i understand the seat number system, work on making it more seamless where the wait staff doesnt look at you like a number or at least dont say...

Unbelievable experience this evening. We booked a table for dinner at the front desk having spent the afternoon at the beach. The guy on the front desk spent a while seeing if we could get a table and made it look like he had squeezed us in - whereas in reality when we returned for dinner - the restaurant was half empty.

The evening started quite well with friendly service initially but the (very good) singer was so loud we couldn't speak to each other - even though our table was quite far away in the brightly lit cafe part.

The cocktails were great. Two of the meals were good (coconut shrimp and fish platter) but our pizza, salad and fries were so tasteless that the only thing to help was the hot pepper sauce.

Anyway - that was all fine as we rarely expect good food in Barbados but it was the way we were totally rushed when we hadn't even finished our meal. Our server Tyrique cleared half the plates away when two of us were still eating (a no in any decent restaurant!) and then still tried to clear my food again when I was still eating.

He then told us he would bring us our bill and we had to leave - even though the restaurant was still half full and the music was in full swing?!? We asked why - do you have another booking? Do you need our table? He said yes - and there were STILL loads of empty tables around us?!?!

He then again tried to rush us to leave - to the point that I asked what if we had wanted desert or another drink - or even - heaven forbid - to let our food digest a bit and enjoy the evening!?!?

No!!! He insisted we paid and left!! So I asked the two ladies at the cash desk - are you closing? No they said! Why have we been rushed out I asked.

No one cared enough to answer! Will never return. Shockingly...

Took my friend to lunch for her birthday. Zaccios was her choice. The location is lovely and there was plenty of exciting action on the beach and on the ocean. It was peaceful and picturesque. The welcome was nice too, but the overall experience was awful. It started with the water glasses…. Really? Anyway we ordered. There was wilted arugula in my “Greek” salad and the shrimp was burnt in some areas. My words at the time…”I am not coming back”. I noticed a mixed drink being served and it was already separating, so I didn’t order any for myself. My friend had the catch of the day with basmati rice and seasonal vegetables and a Pina Colada. The food looked good and she said it tasted good. She liked the fact that her blackened fish was not black. There was a long discourse before she ordered her cocktail and she did not order her favorite drink because she didn’t want that messed up. When the drink came it looked strange to me. She taste it and asked me to taste it as well. It “was horrible”; her words…. and I agreed. It was not ours only. Other patrons were returning theirs. Then it was the bill. They charged for a menu item which I ordered but they didn’t have it. Yet, there it was on the bill along with everything else. An hour and a half later my friend had to ask permission to use a rest room in a business place in Bridgetown. Her words. “That food didn’t agree with me.” and “It was awful “ I thought maybe it was the drink. The day was hot, she was thirsty and she drank about half before she couldn’t take it any more. I have never given a negative review before, but I owed it...
