Bar AMI — Restaurant in Antwerp

Good Mexican food, but giving 4 stars as I've had better back in the UK. Although they had nice fresh flavours, I did think it could have been more flavourful.

It was very pricey for tapas style dishes, which each dish of 3 small tacos costing between €12.50-€14 each.. and when you need to order 4-5 dishes between 2 people, this adds up quick!

I didn't like how they serve the dishes, making you wait for your next tapas dish until you've finished the previous ones. I've been to plenty of Mexican tapas places where they cook it all fresh to order (like this one), but it just keeps coming out. I would much prefer this style so you don't have to wait between small plates.

The cocktails were excellent! I had the spicy margarita and my husband had the mezcal old fashioned and we both thought they were better than the cocktails bars we went to.

Overall, if you want fresh, tasty Mexican tapas, then I would definitely...

First of all: the Tacos are really good. But they're - even for a good and authentic quality - far overpriced. A Mini -Taco is about 4-5€ per peace (12-15€ for a plate of 3). I've had such Tacos in México Ciudad for less than 1$ each. As they're really small and served with only 1 corn taco you have to eat many. So don't come hungry. Even sauces, nachos, Dips aren't included , what I would expect in a place like this. I personally like the concept of sharing food platters. But not everyone in western Europe does. The service is quite slow and seems to be a bit overwhelmed. But, as I mentioned before: the Taco's are really good. My suggestion for the restaurant would be: use bigger Tacos or more ones on a plate, and please (!) use 2 layers of tacos as everyone in...

What a wonderful experience! My girlfriend is a vegetarian and because with Taco's you end up with some shared dining we asked for the vegetarian options. They have a great selection for vegetarians, we had 6 or 7 dishes to choose from and we tried almost all of them. We where amazed by the taste also the service was spot on! Friendly, warm and some perfect cocktails. They had a special, Taco de Horos, with Mushrooms and we loved it so much we ordered it twice. The price of the food is reasonable, I mean yes you pay a bit more but you are in the centre of Antwerp so you can't expect cheap Tacos.
