LIMA Nikkei — Restaurant in Antwerp

We wanted to visit this restaurant for a very long time and we're more than happy that we finally did. It was one of our favorite experiences.

You definitely need to book a table if you'd like to visit this spot as this place seems to get quite busy. It is a very small restaurant with a cozy interior which represents very well the fusion of the two cuisines.

The dishes we ordered were simply delicious. The Nikkei Duck Breast was hands down one of the best duck breasts, if not the best, we've ever had so far. I can also say the same about their Nigiri Aburi sushi: it was simply delightful. We also enjoyed the Parrillero sushi - it is a pretty unique but successful combination of flavors. Caukare was tasty as well but it was our least favorite dish.

The Pisco-based cocktails we ordered, especially the original Pisco Sour and Maracuya Sour, were absolutely great.

Lastly, the service was impeccable: friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about everything that was being served.

Overall, we absolutely adored the experience and we will definitely come back many times to try more of the dishes/drinks. In fact, we simply cannot wait to...

We were visiting for the weekend and wanted a restaurant that was a bit special, different and intimate . LIMA ticked all of those boxes, the meal was very memorable and flavours were amazing.

Cons The service could have been a bit more personable and attentive Took close to 25 mins for drinks orders to be taken - when others had already received their drinks and were already ordering food. A bit too long for me, especially when the seatings are timed More explanation of the menu and concept would have been nice - we were a bit lost on what to order and amounts etc Bit more connection from the wait staff- service was efficient but not particularly personal or connecting beyond taking the order

Pretty disappointed with the experience.

It started off great - the place has a nice atmosphere, and the starters were delicious and gorgeous. Then the wait for the main dish started. No explanation on the delay, no order for a second drink taken. Main dishes finally arrived and were underwhelming. Then, when we tried to order dessert we were told the shift was finished and we would be brought the bill instead. This was two hours after we arrived for our reservation.

The staff was not apologetic at all, nor were we given any reason other than "its a bit busier than usual". The table next to us were asked to rush through their dessert.
