Picniq — Restaurant in Antwerp

This place is a scam - don't go here expecting authentic Korean food. Even after spending 50 euros, you will leave the place feeling hungry.

We went here with my boyfriend and we left hungry because the portions were so incredibly small - the food itself was okay, but it was VERY VERY overpriced and has NOTHING to do with authentic Korean cuisine.

The staff seemed quite condescending/passive-aggressive and the environment itself was not matching up with the price either.

The photos published here are also VERY misleading - they didn't have any real Korean food, like kimbap or a side of kimchi; even bibimbap, which is usually served with many different ingredients was basically rice with 2 grams of vegetables.

Highly, highly disappointed and never visiting this place ever again unless you want to be scammed or have too much money and you don't know what...

The food is good - though not really Korean - but this is a very overpriced place. Take the price of the tea: 7 euro. For that money one expects an exceptional tea. It is not. Or a big portion. But it is just one single glass. Or maybe a nice cookie? Nope. This place is a concept, with a lot of thought being put into presentation, but the food itself is just 'good', nothing more and nothing less. It made the whole evening feel a bit fake to me. A portion of rice in a nice bowl is still a portion of rice, you know. Also, I don't like waiters who go through their knees at my table when explaining things. Adults should only go on their knees when they propose, or when talking to toddlers. But maybe that is just personal. I dont regret visiting the place as I learnt some new food combinations, but one time...

When reserving a spot for this restaurant i requested a seat with good back support. Turns out there was only 1 table with chairs..So good i did this, since else i would have trouble with my back.

The waiter suggested that per person we take 4 dishes. As there were only 8 dishes on the menu, we just took everything and also shared everything. After these 8 courses we were satisfied. Its not traditional korean cuisine, but its a modern twist to some classics.

We were suprised by the tastes and loved that every dish had a seperate taste. Sweet, sour, smokey, spicey, creamy. We got nothing that we didnt like. We only skipped the dessert, since there was only 1 choice and it didnt interest.us.

Just be warned that this isnt a cheap dinner..You will easily pay 60-70...
