Ordered a bloody mary and got tomato juice and vodka in a glass (saw the barman make it), tasted horrible and when I asked politely for the barman to remake it with the right ingredients I was told ‘just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean you can get something else’ Then was rudely asked ‘what else would you prefer’ in a way to shut me up. Super Rude and unwelcoming.
Update Thanks for your kind reply to my honest review! I see where the staff gets their politeness from :)
Here’s a recipe from google, all I had to do is write and hit enter!
STEP 1 Place the ice in a large jug. Measure the vodka, tomato juice and lemon juice and pour it straight onto the ice.
STEP 2 Add 3 shakes of Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco (or more if you like it very spicy) and a pinch of celery salt and pepper. Stir until the outside of the jug feels cold, then strain the cocktail into 2 tall glasses.
STEP 3 Top up with fresh ice, add a celery stick and lemon slice to both glasses and enjoy.
Didn’t think I would have to teach a bar how to make a proper drink but here we are ;)
Since the owner wants to leave nasty feedback and later delete it I’ll post the screenshot to remind them how...
Read moreYes yes yes. Vitrin is something else and nothing new at the same time. If your goal is to get hammered and do shots, steer clear of this venue. Vitrin is a meeting ground for all of Antwerp's the inhabitants. Opening early in the day for the morning crowd until 12-1 in the morning for the after-work drinks, it's not specifically bar-material. Coffee and sandwiches are good as well. Seating is limited, but standing around holding your drink during summer months is not a rare sight. Client age varies, but you won't be running into groups of students. Order at the bar, as they only have staff to clear the tables, not to serve your drinks. Vitrin offers a variety of beers, a decent selection of cocktails and many non-alcoholic options as well. Magazines and newspapers can be found inside, if you feel like...
Read moreI came here to have a drink twice during my stay in Antwerpen, I ordered a Caipiroska (Brazilian Caipirinha with vodka) and a Bloody Mary (vodka with tomato sauce, it seems blood!). If you want extra alcohol, you can ask for it, they will only charge you a little extra. The personnel was nice and available and the Caipiroska was tasty. I strongly disliked the Bloody Mary (even if the bartender let me put some brown sugar in it from their sugar bowl), but that's only a question of personal preferences. The place was always crowded but you can always find an empty chair. The place was clean and the atmosphere was nice, even if it's a small place. In particular, the place is full of awesome red lights. You can pay using card. Five stars, they are...
