With noodles imported from Sapporo (Sapporo Nishiyama Seimen), broths made in-house and a random quality control every so often to make sure the ramen doesn't deviate from the founder's standards, Takumi Ramen easily serves the best ramen you can get in Antwerp.
However, the fun doesn't stop with simple ramen because aside from sides like seaweed salad, takoyaki and gyoza, Takumi also offers that other staple of Japanese comfort food: curry rice!
No matter what you pick, the flavors are rich and fresh and the staff is always willing to help you if you need guidance to finding your way in the menu or indeed, the restaurant. On top of that, the stores are decorated with typical Japanese furnishings like a woven basket to put your coats in while eating, a detail unheard of in other establishments.
As a native, I've always felt like Antwerp has been starved for some authentic Japanese cuisine (or indeed, even a mere Japanese grocery store) for a long time; but with Takumi opening franchises in Antwerp, at least our ramen itch can now...
Read moreDELICIOUS! As a low budget eater, it wasn't the cheapest thing you can eat but it was definitely well worth the price. Staff is friendly and accommodated us 5mins before the end of the first shift. While staff attitude isn't what makes a dish great, it does contribute to the experience.
We tried the Spicy Ramen, Takoyaki and Matcha Ice. I must say, I was not disappointed at all. (Matcha Ice is a must for green tea lovers.) If your not a fan of noodles, they have curry rice as well. Though I didn't get it, I am lead to think that their curry is good just by th karaage alone (they included this in my noodles and was one of the highlights of the dish).
However, take note of the amount of people that you will be dining with and the time you want to visit. The restaurant has two opening hours daily and mostly accommodate a party of 4 pax at max. (They do state that you can reserve for more than 4, which I assume is to accommodate large groups.)
Overall super good when you want to treat yourself to some...

The food was served relatively fast and it was tasty. The ingredients definitely felt fresh and had a good bite. I absolutely would recommend the shoyu teriyaki chicken ramen, it was a large portion but not heavy on the stomach. They have veggie dishes as well if that's your thing.(the vegetables were really good too) The music is very.. enthusiastic and Japanese, But the volume makes it not stand out in an annoying way. The staff was very friendly and made sure to check up on us regularly. The prices look a bit steep (generally 15€ per bowl) but the bowls/plates they serve are massive. With normal appetite you will either be full or unable to finish the dish.
I would absolutely...
