Grillkasteeltje — Restaurant in Bruges

Unfortunately we didn’t have the best meal here. To be fair to the staff we spoke in English, but we ordered a steak and asked for medium rare and it came well done. The flavour of the meat was perfect. But due to cooking it did feel more chewy than it should have been.

I paid extra for a jacket potato and it was undercooked, but the pork cheeks were delicious. So a bit mixed, but overall the service lacked attention (we didn’t get told about the specials / she didn’t check if we were enjoying our meal) and the cooking wasn’t quite...

My husband and I wanted a real restaurant away from all those tourist traps in Brugges. Glad we've tried Grillkasteeltje. It's a small restaurant located on a side street only a few minutes walk from the Bell Tower. Pleasant ambiance. High quality wine selection. Excellent food and service. We ordered from the daily special menu and enjoyed every dish, even the side salad and little baguette basket. Price was reasonable. We wanted to come back the next day but it was their day off...

We arrived later in the evening, although an hour and a half before closing. We seemed to be begrudgingly accepted on the condition of ordering main courses only. The steak was very well prepared and of good quality. As were the accompanying sauces.
