Casa Romantico — Hotel in Bruges

The room and the B&B itself was nice and clean, there was a modern internet/TV infrastructure which, although won't be used much, is always a plus. Breakfast was good but not superb, not that much variety and if I had to eat it more than 2 days in a row I would be tired of it. It's not a cheap B&B so I expected more for the price. However if this was the only negative thing I would still rate a 3-4/5.||||Biggest turnoff for us was that the checkout was at 11am and we were NOT allowed to use to pool anymore afterwards. They claimed it was fully booked but even then, the next guests can only check in at 2pm so if they would have let us use the pool until then it would be acceptable. But even that was a no go. To be honest even if the other guests would arrive way too early there would have been more than enough room at the pool. There was a maximum of 3 people at the pool at all times while there were around 10 seats available. So it would have never been an issue at all||||We pretty much lost an entire day we counted on, which would have meant decent value for price. Now not so much at all. This is a more expensive B&B and we expected better service...

The owners try hard to make this a nice space and experience. However, the parking situation is a disaster. They should warn you!! I arrived via Google Maps and at first couldn’t find the hotel or any signs regarding where to park. I approached the reception who told me to reverse backwards into a one-way street (dangerous!). There were bikes and cars coming from behind all the time. I got so stressed by this. Then she told me to drive into an underground garage which I refused because it was way too narrow for an SUV! Then she told me to park right beyond the gates of the hotel, which was challenging because, again, the entrance was so god damn narrow. While I was trying to navigate all this as a someone from abroad, she made snarky comments (“seeing how you reverse…”). The next day the problems continued because the other owner tried to navigate me out of the property plot through the gates. He didn’t pay attention while doing so, so the side of my car got scratched. Sure, that was ultimately my mistake. Even so, the attitude was shocking and rude and communication around driving and parking extremely poor. This ruined...

This B&B is a gorgeous surprise as it looks tiny from outside but the door opens and it’s a little haven! Tasteful and thoughtful decor and touches everywhere, our room was so lovely with a great shower and a incredibly comfy bed. There is a gorgeous pool and garden area with plenty of seating and you cannot believe you’re in the middle of bustling Bruges!! There was even an honesty bar which was such a great touch.||Breakfast was delicious, beautifully presented with lots of options, freshly prepared fruit on private platters served to you, and eggs made to order. The hostess was very professional and attentive.||It is in a great location as you are just a few mins walk to the main Cathedral square where there are an abundance of restaurants, bars and shops! A fantastic option if you are staying in Bruges for a few nights - don’t be put off by the fact it’s a b&b (as we do often are) as this outranked many 4-5 star hotels we’ve stayed at previously for value for money, service and facilities, a...
