Very nice interior and good location but that's about it. I know the business is new but they are clearly ill prepared for the covers they want to do. There was chaos everywhere, we managed to find a seat easily as we didn't want to sit outside , which looked all occupied by the way. So they might have been a victim of their own success. There were dirty tables everywhere even saw new customers clean their own tables as the waiters were running around like headless chickens trying to restore oder in the mayhem. People all around us were not getting what they ordered or only a fraction of their actual order. By our surprise we got our food within 15 min and drinks followed soon after. My toast with scrambled eggs and avocado was burned on the sides but that was just on the sides so easily cut off. The manhatten breakfast was flawless. We were only given one set of cutlery which was dirty and replaced it ourselves twice to find clean ones. Clearly they took to many orders to be so understaffed with clearly now one in charge to guide their team. All in all very disappointed and will not return. Shame as it has great potential but victims of their own success also slightly overpriced but...
Read moreLe Pain Quotidien (LPQ) is a bakery-restaurant group founded in Belgium in 1990. Today you'll find LPQ eateries in numerous destinations around the world including this branch at Simon Stevinplein in Bruges. Opening hours are 7am to 7pm daily with a later opening on Sundays at 8am.
We ate breakfast at this Le Pain Quitidien and enjoyed it as much as the two LPQ eateries visited in Brussels during this particular trip to Belgium. Seating is typical with a fair sized communal table and other smaller tables for two. They have menus printed in Dutch, French and English and staff speak English very well.
During our breakfast at LPQ we enjoyed the mushroom toast order as well as the Manhattan set breakfast which came with a egg, smoked salmon, ricotta cheese and a bit of salad. As expected, ingredients were fresh and everything tasted just fine. Coffee and mint lemon juice orders were good as well.
In the end, this is just another LPQ where visitors can find simple but quality breakfast and midday meals, a nice alternative to pricey hotel restaurants and touristy places around the city. We will happily return here the next time we...
Read moreVisited 3 months ago. Fully admit that I went in initially it was because I was looking for a place to charge my phone. They shockingly had outlets built into their benches inside (score!). Once I sat down and started looking at their menu, I realized I wanted to try a few times. I got the Bakers Daily Lunch (13,95 euros) which included soup, half tartine and a side salad. I was thinking it was going to just be a cup of soup but it ended up being a massive bowl. They did warn me that the tartine was beef tartare (raw beef, Grana Padano cheese and sun dried tomatoes). The side salad was a great size and the soup of the day was leek. I ended up putting some of the sun dried tomatoes in the soup and it was fantastic. I also got a seasonal juice which was delicious. It was a combo of spinach, mint and pear which sounds like it wouldn't work but did. This place is a little pricey but I expected that pretty much all over Bruges. Their outdoor patio is stunning. Would love to come back during...
