If you enjoy waiting an hour for burnt pancakes, incomplete salads, and dismissive staff, come here. Otherwise, stay away. Read below for further explanation: I really do not enjoy writing negative reviews, and if you go to my profile you will see as such. However, I feel as though it is important for others to be aware of the terrible service here at the Lloyd Coffee Eatery - Grand-Place. Generally, I like to give the benefit of the doubt to places like these. Perhaps this is a bad day for the staff, or a slow day for the kitchen, or some other reason. But with many other reviews reflecting the same experience as I had, I believe this is a reoccurring problem that should be addressed by Lloyd Coffee Eatery. We came in and no one greeted us, and with no sign indicating otherwise we assumed we could seat ourselves and did so. The menu/ordering system is online. Regarding the Chicken Salad first, my mother ordered it due to the image on the online menu showing a large amount of guacamole in the middle of the salad. When the salad finally arrived an hour later, it came without guacamole. We then asked staff (after trying and failing to flag one down for around five minutes) to give us a side of guacamole as the salad is supposed to come with it. An additional side is €3, so we obviously wanted what was presented on the menu. The server then informed us that there was no guacamole available, which was not mentioned in the online menu or in person after we ordered it. This comes after waiting an hour, during which they had plenty of time to inform us of this and provide alternate options; they did not. Eventually, without explanation or apology, they dumped a poorly poured cup of guacamole on our table. Overall taste could have been great, but was soured by our terrible experience. Onto the pancakes. We ordered the most simple pancakes they had available on the menu — plain pancakes with no toppings. The idea that this would take an hour to serve is unfathomable to me, given that the place was not even overwhelmingly busy. When the pancakes arrived after the hour, and us asking our server twice to check on our order after forty minutes had passed, I was pleasantly surprised. The pancakes looked great! Only when I cut into them did I discover that they were barely warm, almost stale, and the bottom pancake was completely burnt. They tried unsuccessfully to conceal this fact this with a large amount of powdered sugar. Syrup provided with the pancakes was a decent amount and tasted good! After waiting an hour, it was almost time for our train to depart from Brussels. We barely had time to eat any of the food and with the state it was in I tried to ask for a refund. This was initially met with a server taking and never returning our receipt. Then when I went up to the counter and asked for a refund to a manager, I was handed a reimbursement request form QR code. I filled it out and will update if I ever get a response. TLDR: Bad and unfinished food, dismissive service, and long waiting times. Do not come here for food. Coffee and homemade peach ice tea were great, though. The atmosphere is also nice, though a bit loud. So maybe if you were to only come for drinks, you would have a better experience.

This place is really cosy, beautiful & pleasant to have a coffee, eat a pancake or an eggbun and hang around in the centrum of Brussels. The staff is really kind and professional. But the most negative point is their coffee that is definitely not good :( They should try to collaborate with a really good local roastery like Black Potion Coffee, MOK or try to find a good organic brand of coffee. Regarding their location, in the heart of the city, they should serve the coffee with a small belgian speciality or biscuit (i. e. Speculoos, DANDOY) They serve really beautiful pancakes, donuts and also basic pies that don't really look appealing and homemade (apple, rhubarb) . It's a pity that they don't serve just a few homemade basic small patries like: cookies, brownies or, why not, carrot cakes & cheesecakes :( There's is a beautiful huge library in the room and it would be nice to use a part of it to create a free "givebook" / book-exchange space They also should add one vegan option to their lunch options and they'll become a 5 stars location for sure. I hope they will evolute to become a more organic/local/seasonal/sustainable place. A picture to finish this review: I tried the veggie eggbun and it's really good if like me you're not afraid of the garlic sauce 😊 the bun is amaaazing 😊

Lloyd Coffee Eatery - Grand Place in Brussels is centrally located (as the name suggests, near Grand Place - a main square). Inside it is spacious with high ceilings in what appears to have once been an industrial building. Visitors are asked to wait to be seated though not to worry, on a Saturday afternoon, the line went quickly. There are sweet and savory options on the menu and I recommend trying both. We had the veggie toast and both classic and Belgian pancakes. The veggie toast had egg, hummus, goat cheese and sun dried tomato on a hearty piece of toast with a side salad. The classic pancakes were just that - three big fluffy American pancakes while the Belgian pancakes were truly decadent smothered in the speculoos cream on top and in between the layers of pancake with whipped cream too. Speculoos - think of the Lotus Bischoff cookies served with coffees typically in Belgium. The service was fast and attentive, facilitated by the use of a QR code menu on the table and there’s guest wifi. Overall very pleasant and not too loud considering how large a space it is. Highly recommend when in the historic center of Brussels

Reminds me of congested economy sits on flights. An ordinary restaurant, popular among youths, cafe hoppers, not for their food quality, not for ambience quality, but wonder why. QR code access menu, and can place order through it but, remember its not tourist friendly. Ordered but failed to get you final note whether the transaction was a success or not. Waited for confirmation email and didn't get any, after 12 minutes of the order. Decided to approach the cashier and explained the situation and was attended by a friendly .waiter. And placed order and received the order. In middle of my physically made order, another waiter came with, the initial order made through QR code menu. Long story cut to short.,they refused to give what I had paid for. Some kitchen workers, denied to hand over the meals which I paid for and lie, that it wasn't mine. Though I have showed a bank statement, as prove I been charged. END OF THE DAY, the transaction confirmation and bank statement wasn't enough for them to give what I paid for. 😂. TYPICAL businesses inside Brussels. especially if that place run by majority of Arabic root employees, than my advice to you, don't bother to waste your money there. Or, even go in. Gave 3 star for services simply because the female employees was doing their level best compare to, the extremist minded males, whom stole what's not theirs after charged for it. please travel short hours to nederland, germany and even france, to enjoy a better restaurant,...

Usually I am coming by to drink a little coffee and work a bit on my stuff with a PC. I am a regular customer here (53+ days since March 2023, according to Google Timeline) and I can't say this is a bad place, but:

• There is only one socket overall • Some tables have issues with the leg, so it's your lack if you have straight-staying table • Tables' legs designed for alien species so it's inconvenient to place your foot in any way • Generally, coffee machine has issues (cleaning or configuration) so your coffee may taste burned • Pancakes tastes undercooked, probable there is a issue with a dough • Fresh juice usually served with a drops of itself on a glass • Cinnamon rolls or donuts are overpriced for the serving quality • Mint tea is a joke - it's a big glass filled up with a boiled water stuffed with some mint with a tea bug on choice • This place feels like an assembly line in a factory (it's overcrowded usually) • I like to take pictures of food or interior but I wasn't having a vibe to do it here • Place is not fine with computers on the weekend or holidays

Some Pros: • Polite stuff (even if some of them look tired. I can relate, it's a tough job, especially in such a crowded place) • Cheap coffee • You have a choice of free extras for a drinks: coffee creamers, sugar, biscuit • Nice location

In the end this place feels artificial and inconvenient, which is why I think I will drop the idea of...
