It was one if the worst experinces for one of the most expensive food. The personal is horrible: you have a table full of glasses from a previous course and they dont take it away until you tell them to, they bring you food which is cold and wine 10 minutes later to it, when you have already finished your dish, once I tried to call a waitress she waived at me and went to another table without coming back. The total experience was ruined on top at the end by a "surprise" of paying extra for the cheese plate which came as a desert. The waitress has asked before bringing it if we would like to have a sweet desert or cheese. My partner went for a cheese and "surprise" it costed extra to already way too expensive menu for the quality. She never told us that and we were only told at the beginning that tonight "only menus" are served. Whatever for 250 euro for the food and wine, it was somewhat okay (but not good) but the experience with the service made it worth than the experience at some fast food counter where the personal is at leatst helpful and tells you if it costs more. Read moreI recently dined at Allegro Moderato, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a modern yet cozy feel that makes you feel right at home. The service was impeccable—our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations from the menu.
We started with the appetizer platter, which included a delightful selection of cheeses and fresh bread. The flavors were balanced, and each bite left me wanting more. For the main course, I opted for their signature pasta dish, and it did not disappoint. The pasta was cooked to perfection, with a rich, flavorful sauce that felt like a hug in every bite.
The wine list was extensive, with a great variety of local and international options to pair with our meals. I appreciated the sommelier’s insight when choosing a wine that complemented the food perfectly.
Overall, Allegro Moderato offers a wonderful dining experience, with fantastic food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back for another round of exquisite dishes and top-notch...
Read moreI was in Ghent for a day trip and my friends took me to Allegro Moderato and I am so happy they did. I eat at a lot of restaurants and I can safely say that this is in my top 10 favorite restaurants in the world. Not sure why they have not received a Michelin Bib Gourmand at minimum. The atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous and relaxing with beautiful views of the canal. The service was impeccable and everyone was so friendly and spoke English, which is a plus since I only speak English. Now for the good part, the food....I got the set lunch menu for 35€, super cheap for the quality of the food that was provided. The dishes were simple, flavorful and perfectly cooked. The ingredients were fresh and in season. If you are in Ghent you absolutely have to eat at...
