Er was laatst een nieuwe bediende die wat minder vriendelijk was tegen een klant die dacht via telefoon besteld te hebben en dan uiteindelijk niet in de lijst stond van de bestellingen. Ze zei de juiste dingen zoals ik heb de lijst bestellingen gedubbelcheckt en u stond er niet op en ik doe dit al lang en weet het echt zeker maar géén enkele empathie voor de klant die - wellicht door zijn eigen vergissing - zijn bestelling niet mee krijgt. Ik kreeg het beeld van iemand die al haar hele leven moet vechten tegen onterechte kritiek (omdat ze een vrouw is? omdat ze een andere huidskleur heeft?) maar deze klant viel haar helemaal niet aan. Hij was... Beteuterd. Teleurgesteld (wellicht teleurgesteld in zichzelf omdat hij een fout gemaakt had bij het bestellen?). En er kon géén glimlach af. Spijtig.
