Bar popular vind je tussen de Vrijdagmarkt en het Sint Jacobsplein vlakbij de Sint-Jacobskerk. Vanwege de ligging tussen de twee pleinen in, is het in de directe omgeving vrij rustig waardoor het bruisende gevoel van gezelligheid een beetje miste. Toch besloten wij hier plaats te nemen en 2 cocktails te bestellen. Een vriendelijke maar ietswat verlegen serveerster bracht ons de cocktails. Verder niets op te merken aan de service en de cocktails smaakten ook goed. Niet te sterk en gelukkig ook zeker niet te slap. De prijzen waren ook redelijk.

Wat wel tegenviel was het terras zelf en het café zelf. Het terras is wat saai en de stoelen en banken zitten niet lekker. Ook binnen lijkt het erg vervallen. De oneven trap naar het toilet is iets om op te letten want je valt er makkelijk af. Ook binnen is het er een beetje saai en mist de gezellige sfeer een beetje.

De sfeer en uitstralingen missen, maar het personeel is prima, de cocktails zijn lekker en de prijzen zijn er redelijk. Al met al niets bijzonders, maar gewoon prima.

Bar Popular can be found between the Vrijdagmarkt and the Sint Jacobsplein near the Sint-Jacobskerk. Due to its location between the two squares, it is fairly quiet, so the lively feeling of cosiness was a bit lacking. Nevertheless, we decided to take a seat here and order 2 cocktails. A friendly but somewhat shy waitress brought us the cocktails. Nothing else to say about the service and the cocktails tasted good too. Not too strong and, fortunately, certainly not too weak. Prices were reasonable too.

What was disappointing was the terrace itself and the café itself. The terrace is a bit boring and the chairs and sofas are uncomfortable. It also seems a bit decayed. The uneven staircase to the toilet is something to watch out for because you can easily fall off. Inside it's also a bit boring and lacks the cozy atmosphere.

The atmosphere and ambience are lacking, but the staff is good, the cocktails are tasty and the prices are reasonable. All in all, nothing special,...

The bartender just expects you to quickly pay and get lost with your drink. Better put up a poster at the entrance that asking anything about the city to the bartender isn't welcomed. Perhaps machines would socialize way better later. What a fake...
