Le Bal Infernal - used book café — Restaurant in Ghent

I passed this place earlier in the day and knew I wanted to come back at a later point. Ended up going there for a cocktail after dinner. Was able to read my book at the bar! Reminds me of a place I used to frequent in college in Greensboro, North Carolina, that no longer exists. If this place had a bakery during the day, it would be the ideal business I'd want to start! I love the atmosphere here! In the day it is so comforting to get some work done there (if you don't mind chatter), and at night it's a great party or hang out spot (it gets way too loud to continue work past around 9). Their brownie macchiato is TO DIE FOR. Although, I wouldn't reccomend their cappuccino. Belgians in general just don't understand what a cappuccino is. As a backpacker, I found this place to be very good. It's comfortable, have clean toilets and a good ambience. The seats are comfortable and you can bring your laptop/books/journal and sit for long hours. The choice coffee is limited but they do give you a scrumptious cookie with the coffee so it makes for any other lag.
