Terrible experience – avoid at all costs.
We waited 50 minutes (you read that right!) for a tiny appetiser (three croquettes and some oysters — how long could that possibly take?) even though the restaurant was nearly empty. The staff couldn’t answer our questions on where our food was, and after another 20-minute wait with still no main dishes, we told them we had to leave to catch a train. We simply couldn’t wait indefinitely.
In total, we were sitting there for 90 minutes (NINETY!!!) and all we got was one small starter. Still no idea if our main dishes were even being prepared. We told the staff we needed to leave and offered to pay for what we had actually eaten. But the woman in charge (presumably the manager on a power trip) refused and insisted we pay for the entire meal — including the main courses we never received.
She was rude, argumentative, and actually had the nerve to blame us for ordering both a starter and a main course. Apparently, it’s our fault for expecting to be served within a reasonable time? Completely absurd.
Eventually, while we have been arguing for 10 minutes (we should have just left instead of trying to reason with her), the food showed up — way too late — and despite us repeatedly asking them to cancel the order before it finally came, we were told we still had to pay the full bill.
We were forced to stay, missed our train, and paid €135 for the worst service and food ever. She didn’t even remove the drinks (€12) from the bill like she said she would.
To make things worse, of the main courses (the steak tartare) gave us stomach issues. That’s not just disappointing — it’s a serious food safety concern.🤢🤮
This place clearly doesn’t have the staff, service, or organisation to operate properly. If you can’t handle a handful of tables, don’t run a restaurant. Beyond the ridiculous delays, it was the rude, unprofessional, and downright hostile behaviour that made this experience so awful.
Disorganised, unprofessional, and unsafe....
Read moreDinner with a family of four. The food was hit or miss. The amuse bouche and the appetizers were good. None of us were thrilled with our mains. The deconstructed vol au vent was disappointing: the pastry was soggy and the chicken overcooked and hard. The cod was tasteless. The tenderloin and pork chop stew were ok. Their kitchen situation is odd. The waiters told us there are two kitchens, one for the appetizers and one for the mains. The mains are very slow (50 minutes plus) to come out and the waiter asked us not to order more than three different mains otherwise they couldn't guarantee the kitchen would be able to manage them and had to ask... We also wanted an extra main to share and they told us it wasn't possible. The place is quite large with loads of tables and few waiters and it seems they tend to seat more people than the kitchen or the service can realistically manage. The waiters (bless them) seem to be trying their best to accommodate. It does have a very nice view on the balcony. Overall I would avoid this place, unless going...
Read moreThis is a cute restaurant with delicious food. The location is fun especially if you are dining in the outside patio. That said, the old walls of the outside patio are so high that you can’t see the water at all (maybe unless you are lucky enough to score one of the four tables next to the wall). You do get a lovely view of the old buildings in the area though.
Everything we ate here was absolutely delicious. I was surprised to see several negative reviews about the quality of the food but perhaps they have changed their menu. Everything from the small pre-appetizer to the appetizer and the meal were excellent. I would absolutely recommend their food. We ordered oysters and risotto for an appetizer and the stew and chicken for main meals. Delicious!
We had an enjoyable time here and I’d recommend it if you’re interested in...
