Dined @ The Misstress yesterday evening, and the experience was well worth the allround 5-star review I want to attribute to this cosy little restaurant. We were greeted with a warm welcome by the 2 owners of the restaurant, who seemed genuinly happy to be of service to their guests. They are rightfully proud of their little city gem and explain their concept and menu with detail and passion for their craft. They are no-nonsense, no fakeness, a little bit rock 'n roll :), open and warm. We tried almost every cocktail on their new cocktail menu, none of which disappointed: blends we have never tasted before in a cocktail. The food was beyond delicious, every course beautifully served with care for presentation. The price of their menu is honest: price&quality are perfectly in balance. I would highly recommend this cosy, viby and delicious little restaurant because it is so "different" from every other restaurant in Ghent: from food to drinks to service to vibe&interior. Big thumbs up to the team behind this beautiful spot, we are most definitely...

But there's a lot more to it: Very interesting and unique cuisine; each dish was a fusion concoction with aspirations from countries around the world, with a slightly heavier weight to East Asian cuisine and Persian cuisine. I'm quite sceptical when chefs try hard to be unique (often at the cost of the taste), but each dish was just - next to being very inventive - very delicious! Also the decoration is unique and charming, with quirky details that makes it unusually cosy. Small with a touch of amateur love, it feels like this place is ran by people who are very passionate at delivering an excellent experience! Did I mention the cocktails? Surprisingly different from the usual suspects, making it as much of a cocktail voyage as a culinary one. The slightly higher price (55 euro per person) is actually pretty reasonable when realising what you get for it.
So yes, this small place is a not to be missed hidden gem...
