I came here for the laundry and stayed for the food so will review both
Laundry consists of 2 washing machines and 2 dryers. They are domestic appliances with a variety of programs and options including a quick wash or a rinse for around 20 to 30 minutes up to an eco wash which may take over 3 hours. The dryers have programs from around 40 minutes to 3 hours. The cost is €6 per load and you can pay by card and also includes detergent and softener.
To save time drying you'll want to use a faster spin. Programs give a maximum spin option of 1200, 1400 or 1600rpm.
I did a small load and was able to complete the drying in around 45 minutes.
FOOD I only ordered the nachos. I would describe the nachos as being good for a sharing snack but if you want it as a meal then go to a Mexican restaurant. But for a casual eating cafe they're good enough. The guacamole is actually good. The Doritos corn chips are as expected. The pulled beef is not saucy in any way but still tasty. The melted cheese lacked sauciness for me and seemed like there should have been more. However, too much cheese would also get complaints so it's hard to get the right balance. It needs more sauciness. There is no salsa and no sour cream and extra guacamole costs €6.10 But the whole serving is a good size, especially for the price of €8.50 So all in all good for a sharing snack but not a meal And overall, I highly recommend this place.... so long as you know what it is
The staff are excellent. Like really really good. The service is kind...
Read moreWhat a nice place! Felt very cozy and enjoyed my visit here. They have a cool restaurant and laundry concept here. We actually came here because we needed to wash some baby clothes!
The good: They have 3 laundry machines and 2 (all though one dryer was broken) Cafe was cute with indoor, outdoor, and upstairs seating Convenient ordering. You scan a QR code s the table to order online through a website. You enter the table number that you are sitting at. They bring it to you. You pay when you leave. Food and Coffee drinks were all yummy. The brunch options offered plenty of food with orange juice and a coffee. I actually couldn’t finish all the brunch food. Free WiFi Staff were all very very kind, nice, and polite. I loved interacting with them!
The bad: Upstairs can get quite hot if the windows are closed. Luckily we sat right next to a window so kept it open the whole time. Laundry machines can take quite a long time depending on setting. If you’re in a rush, there’s a quick wash option that lasts 20 min. Most of the time I see people run it for 1-2 hours. It seems like people don’t usually stay here while it’s running. Same story with the dryers. Pretty much guaranteed around 2 hours. Plus at the the time of this review...only one machine was working. I didn’t have a problem since no one else was needing it. Food can take a while to get to you.
TIP: if you’re used to your washing and drying to be done in less than 1.5 hours. Might want to consider bring it to an actually laundromat (or...

Probably a good place to wash your clothes, but not for lunch

De Queen Elizabeth Bagel (sesam bagel . omelet . krokant spek . rode Cheddar . lente-uitjes . kerstomaatjes . mayonaise . jonge bladspinazie . rode zurkel blaadjes) Tony Texas Bagel (sesam bagel . bourbon pulled beef . belgische pickles . kerstomaatjes . rode Cheddar . jonge bladspinazie . rode zurkel blaadjes)
-ENGLISH- The Wasbar in Ghent is located on the Korenmarkt. You can do your laundry and while you wait, you could havesomething to eat. I don’t know about the washing but I do know I would not recommend the food.
It's a nice concept and the place is nicely decorated, but the food is not tasty and is expensive and the same goes for the drinks. We ordered the The Queen Elizabeth Bagel and the Tony Texas Bagel. Both are served with some lettuce, potato wafers and truffle mayonnaise and cost € 14 each. We also had the fresh orange juice , a smoothie, a cappuccino & Royal crown craft Cola
It looked delicious, but literally the only thing that tasted good were the potato wafers. We might as well have gotten some fries for a few euros. The bread was good, but both bagels were barely filled and just not tasty. The Queen Elizabeth Bagel seemed to contain half an egg, 1 cherry tomato, a small slice of cheese, a bit of mayo and almost no bacon. I could enjoy it. The Tony Texas Bagel was horrible. One bite and I was done. The pulled beef tasted like dog food. Again barely any toppings and overall just very sour.
And unfortunately the other aspects could not make up for it. The cappuccino was like warm milk with a faint taste of coffee and both the orange and smoothie seemed to be mixed with water. The place itself was also very warm and damp and the service took a while. A total bill of € 48 euros was absolutely not worth it. I really wouldn’t recommend it and I for sure will not go back...
