L'Atelier en Ville — Restaurant in Ixelles - Elsene

If you’re wandering around the center of Brussels and looking for a place to slow down, this café is such a find. It’s a bit hidden, which makes it feel special, and most of the seating is in a leafy patio that feels more like someone’s garden than a café terrace. You don’t really expect that calm atmosphere in the middle of the city, and it makes you want to stay longer than planned.

The staff couldn’t be nicer — super friendly, easygoing, and they really make you feel welcome without ever being over the top. Coffee is spot on (clearly made by people who know and love what they’re doing) and the food is perfect whether you’re there for breakfast, brunch, or just something sweet with your drink.

But the best part for me was how much my dog enjoyed it. She was comfortable and happy from the moment we sat down, and it’s not every day you find a café where your pet feels as welcome as you do.

All in all, it’s one of those places you end up recommending to everyone: great atmosphere, amazing little terrace, excellent coffee, and staff who get it just right. Definitely worth...

The food (bagel chicken, bagel salmon and bagel goat cheese) was really good, and the price of €8.90 is pretty much the same as every where else. We also shared a couple of pieces of cake, good as well. The location is really beautiful, cozy and chill, loved it. The only real "problem" was the service: most of the waiters (not all of them, I must say!) were rude, vaguely arrogant and pretty much annoyed to be there. We asked for a bottle of tap water and they looked at us as if we asked to get the meal for free, and in the end they gave us the smallest glass of water they could find. You don’t even own the place, open this tap and give me a decent...

I have come here several times as I work nearby. The coffees are nice (even though you don't always get the free cookie with them) but the pastries are not well preserved... This morning there were flies on some of the cakes which are not covered... They could invest in at least some transparent covers... It was my birthday and I wanted one sweet, so I took the banana chocolate cake but was completely dry and no taste at all like banana...the decoration is beautiful and the atmosphere is nice but think I am done with the place, at least...
