I was really looking forward to brunch at this place, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to expectations. When we arrived, we had to wait a bit longer than expected to place our order, even though we signaled to the waitress several times that we were ready. After a while, she finally came over, but it felt a little inattentive.
The wait for our food was also longer than we had hoped—about 35-40 minutes. When we mentioned this to the staff, they explained that on weekends, wait times can range from 20 to 45 minutes, which is understandable during busy times. However, the place wasn’t crowded, and we noticed that two tables who arrived much later after we already ordered were served just a couple of minutes after us, which made the long wait seem less justifiable.
When the food finally arrived, the eggs were sadly bland and needed some seasoning (no salt/pepper on table). Overall, it wasn’t the experience we were expecting, especially given the place’s reputation. We’ve had better brunches at the same brand but other spots, but I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully, they can improve on the consistency and...
Read moreWe saw the review photos and decided to go for lunch based on the delicious food. We were there 18.07.23 and the place was busy but there were 6 open tables inside. We waited to be served (10 min) and had to ask the man to take our order but was met with “there are many tables in front of you to order”. So we waited. There was truly only one server and he seemed incredibly overwhelmed for the lunch service. When he did come to our table 20 minutes later, he said that he would put in our order for drinks but would come back in 5-10 minutes to take our food order. If we had done that, it would have been waiting 40 minutes to just put in our order so we left (he was quite thankful that we were leaving). The place looks lovely and the server was friendly enough but the wait was just too much for wanting a salad and lemonade. It seems that recent reviews are focusing on the poor service for this restaurant, and hopefully that changes for them soon, as we’d really like to try the...
Read moreI recently tried the savory mushroom waffles at this cafe, and I appreciated the accommodating staff who swapped out the usual eggs for avocado upon my request – a commendable service. The addition of avocado and salad brought a fresh element to the dish, showing flexibility in their menu.
The coffee was a standout, with a rich and delightful flavor, adding to the overall positive experience. However, the savory waffles’ taste fell a bit flat for my liking, and considering the breakfast price ranging between 20-22€, it leans toward the expensive side, even for Brussels. The ambiance and service were noteworthy, contributing to a pleasant experience overall.
While I enjoyed the uniqueness of the dish, I believe a bit more flavor could elevate it to excellence. Despite this, I acknowledge the effort to accommodate individual preferences. I look forward to potential refinements that could make this place a top breakfast spot...
