Took a couple of visiting friends to this cafe to eat pancakes (been here before 2x because I live around the corner and I liked the pancakes and the decoor). The service is not usually good and the tables are usually dirty, but untill this last time it was excusable because of the good ambience. However, the service with my friends was terrible! We paid for the meal upfront, and after waiting 5 mins standing I had to ask a waiter to 'please' clean and remove the dirty plates on the tables so we could sit down (all the empty tables - about 5 - were dirty and full of dishes). She picked up the plates but the table remained dirty with breadcrumbs and fluids... About 10 mins after sitting down, my friends got their orders (croissants) but my pancakes were nowhere to be seen. After 30 mins my friends finished breakfast, after wich I asked an employee what happened to my order, to which she replied that there was no pancake mix, and it would take 40 mins to make some more. (If I hadn't asked they would not even bother to inform me). I told them that I wanted my money back since my friends had already finished and we wanted to leave... to which the waiter replied that they do not refund money so I would have to order something else. Only after insisting a couple more times that I wanted to leave did she grudgingly go get the money, practically threw it in front of me with a sour face and, without saying anything, turned her back and left. Very rude behaviour. And I still had to pay for the orange juice that I didn't want to drink, because they said it was freshly squeezed. Because you know... I come come to cafés just to drink juice with no food at breakfast... Such a shame, I live around the corner and truly wanted to come here more times, but after this last episode I won't be coming back...
Read moreOh my god 🥹 entered this place by accident and it was the BEST accident I still cannot get over it. We walked past it and I said ooh the terrace on the street looks like a café I visited in Rome, let’s grab a coffee and sit there. We were there with my one year old, who was clearly very bored of sitting inside the stroller, but I didn’t have any other choice.
Then I entered the café to order something and what I saw inside was just incredible. First of all, the interior is so cosy, and at the end of the hallway I saw a corner for kids to play in 🥹🫶🏼 so we immediately ditched our place in the terrace, and took a table close to the playing corner. Got the baby out of the stroller, let him play, eat his lovely pancakes and had the most chill coffee in a whiiiile - while my baby was playing peacefully with other kids. There were so many mamas breastfeeding, families with toddlers just grabbing some coffee, which felt so good because I know how it feels to get some coffee in a place where you’re the only one with a child so everyone gives you the looks when they have a moment and might scream or cry. But here the atmosphere was incredible. The babies didn’t even scream, because they were so entertained. Parents could have their coffee in PEACE. Lovely.
One note, wouldn’t recommend their iced matcha latte, but that’s my personal opinion. Plus the prices are a bit higher than elsewhere, but so much...
Read moreLovely place where you can have nice brunchs with all of the family. There is a small play area for little ones, although it is a bit limited.
The dishes are nice and even though they may seem pricy at first, they are very generous. We had the Nordic brunch and the caramelo pancakes and we were stuffed! However, the tables are very small in comparison with the dishes so everything is packed in front of you and with kids, it can quickly become messy...
There is no service at the tables for some reason and so you need to queue at the counter, which takes long and can be frustrating. After you order, they ask you to wait on the side for your drinks... This results with everybody getting stacked at the reception area waiting for their order. Not ideal.
Also, the waiting line for the pancakes was disturbing as we received most of the food almost immediately and nobody told us when we should come back to pick the rest up. Resulting in more frustrations at the queue and then at the...
