EED — Restaurant in Leuven

Perfect example of hospitality and friendly service. The whole menu was a feast that started with a tasty glass of unconventional (German) crémant. For the rest of the courses I opted for the non-alcoholic drinks, which were piece by piece perfect matches for the courses. A little bit more variation in the drinks (hot, cold, sparkling, cocktail) can be a small point of critisism. The food was prepared to perfection. The interior was well balanced and in a certain way minimalistic. A small flower or flower arrangement on the individual tables was missing. Oh . This is difficult to write. From the moment I stepped in all was perfect. The service - the starters. And it just became better and better. Wonderful food. Brilliant service. And then the problem. One can’t choose the other customers. Can a 1 star Michelin restaurant ask a noisy table to calm down? I guess so. This didn’t happen - the noise level from a table of six pax - became a nightmare when I tried to enjoy the fantastic food. I did enjoy the food - really much - but I didn’t enjoy the horse impersonations from that table. So give noisy people fudge to chew on so they stop...

Had a really lovely experience here. EED goes beyond the standard fare with more experimental and superb combinations of textures and flavors that you'd typically not expect. Some wines for the pairing felt a bit weak in my view, and one of the waiters were a bit too eager in clearing our table after we finished our courses. But overall enjoyed it and will hope to be back again sometime.
