Taj Mahal Leuven — Restaurant in Leuven

Visited here early Monday evening with a colleague end of May 2025. There were only a few diners there.

The waitress was very pleasant and efficient. I ordered a Chicken Korma with Garlic Naan. I skipped starters as I had been feeling a little nauseous throughout the day.

The customary poppadoms were brought out with the dips. Soon followed the mains and I can say hands down that this was the best Korma I have ever tasted. Do not come here on a Saturday night. They were severely understaffed and we had to wait 1h30 min for our food. For the price you’re paying and the quality of the food this place is not worth a visit. We did not have a reservation and they let us sit down upon arrival although the restaurant was busy they did not care to warn us there was a long wait. They didn’t come to check on us whilst we were waiting for the food and didn’t offer compensation for the wait, we had to ask and only got an item worth 4€ taken off. There was clearly a problem at the restaurant tonight because our reservation came as a complete surprise to them and they were dealing with a very full restaurant with too few staff. As a result, we were not the only customers who had to wait 2 hours for a main course to arrive. When it did come, the food was great and the staff were very apologetic - we think they had had a terrible night of complaints and looked drained, so we made the best of the long wait. I expect on a less busy night, this would be a great place to eat and we would try it again. Just not...
