Al Bacino — Restaurant in Saint-Gilles - Sint-Gillis

I stopped by an hour before closing and asked if I could sit at one of half a dozen empty tables outside. Server seemed irritated that I was alone, said he’d have to check, then granted me permission to sit. After a hot day of walking the city for hours all I wanted was a glass of Italian wine to relax with before heading back to my hotel. I waited about 15 minutes before the server came back. I gave him my order of a glass of wine and he said I was not allowed to order just a drink, I needed to order a full meal because it’s a restaurant. I’m not sure if this is a customary rule in Belgium, but it was really embarrassing being made to leave after sitting waiting for service. I could understand if it were peak dinner time with a queue for tables, but that wasn’t the case. Their menu didn’t really have anything I could eat (vegan with a tomato sensitivity) but I picked the place because it was the least busy out of every other bar/restaurant...

Lovely, delicious pizza in a lovely street in central Brussels with a fantastic atmosphere! I was particularly impressed with the service; the young lady who works there that will be studying next year served me and was truly amazing. She was so attentive and kind, and that really was the highlight of my trip besides the delicious pizza! I didn't catch the young lady's name but she is a star and a true asset to the restaurant! :) The pizza's were really well-priced for Brussels too, especially if you get the lunch time meal deal. Al Bacio is an almost tiny and simple furnished italian restaurant with only a small menue. That sounds not very inviting but in fact it’s the most recommendable restaurant in Brussels if you are looking for a perfect pizza experience. To put it straight, it was the best pizza I ever had! The service is intent, the restaurant is neat and homely with an open kitchen and the prices are fair. The only thing I could complain about-if I would-is, that it took me more than 50 years to discover that very special place. So just go there, review my rating...
