Three stars because the vibe was great and the service was kind, but slow, the food was mediocre and the cocktail was bad.
The atmosphere is amazing. There was a live DJ playing, which added a really nice touch. I’d recommend this place for drinks with friends and some light snacks on the side — not for a full dinner (which seems to be the concept anyway).
The truffle burger, fries, and hummus were really good. The other tapas, though, were quite plain. We had the beef brochette, halloumi, and the kebbe — I wouldn’t order any of those again. They were all a bit dry and lacked flavor, and you pay too much for what you get.
That said, we didn’t come here for the food — we came for the cocktails.
I asked them to make a custom mocktail, since they advertise that on their menu. I’ve never been so disappointed. It tasted like straight fruit juice from a store-bought box — not a trace of fresh ingredients.
My friend had the Nadeen mocktail and said it was really nice, though.
The pictures of cocktails seem nice though, so next time I would take a cocktail and not a mocktail.
The staff were super friendly but very slow. We waited quite a while just to get water or to place our order. I also noticed other people’s cocktails sitting on the bar for 10 minutes before being brought to their tables. Of course, that’s not the worst thing — the vibe does make...
Read moreA place I would’ve easily missed if it wasn’t for a friend’s recommendation. Looks empty from the outside and with this old, worn-out interior. Turns out it looks this way by design and the whole inside is very well composed of old furniture and tons of small details that give it a look of at least one century of age. There’s a very nice, summer patio when you pass through the restaurant, and that’s where all the people sit obviously.
The menu was just enough in length, enough choice but not too much and indicative of an opinionated selection. A number of dishes had Middle-Eastern and African descent. I went for the Rocket salad, my companion took the Senegalese Mafe. Both came timely (perhaps with a bit of a wait), and tasted good. Not great, but solid, good, fresh ingredients, nicely spiced and mixed.
Altogether a very pleasant place to visit, both when it’s warm and one can sit in the patio, as well as on colder days, when one can stay in the...
Read moreNice and cozy cocktail bar/restaurant with unique ambiance and beautifully decorated. We booked a few days in advance and wanted to spend our date quiet and in style... and despite this place is really nice, something was missing for a great experience. The acoustics of this place makes it hard to hear each other properly and without constantly leaning towards the other person (especially when there are lot of people), service was on the slow side that night (they were probably full but still) and there are very few options for vegetarians in the menu. Drinks were good but nothing special. All in all it was a nice night out and I definitely can recommend coming here just to feel the charm...
