Highly recommended for a taste of Mozambique in the heart of Gaborone. For those who love veggie dishes, Mosambik Restaurant in Gaborone is a real find. While they're famous for seafood and meat, their veggie options are fantastic too. Start with their Mozambican salad – fresh greens, juicy tomatoes, and a zesty dressing. Or try the grilled vegetable skewers, packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. For mains, go for the vegetarian paella. It's full of spices, seasonal veggies, and fragrant rice – a real treat for the taste buds. Don't forget to pair your meal with a refreshing mocktail or one of their fruity juices. Overall, Mosambik Restaurant goes the extra mile for vegetarians, offering tasty dishes that celebrate fresh, natural flavors. For a taste of Mozambique without leaving Gaborone, Mosambik Restaurant is the place to be. Whether you're dining with friends or on a date, it's sure to impress.

Indoor and outdoor seating. Hard to get to the place from airport junction, you have to walk outside a fence through some sketch areas. Servers are nice enough, complimentary peanuts on arrival. Service is attentive but the kitchen is very slow. There was nobody at the restaurant and food still took over an hour. If you have dietary restrictions, DO NOT COME HERE. They refused to make anything gluten free, only offered salads. Claimed everything had flour in it. That's just lazy. They had rice, they had grilled vegetables, meats, seafood, they could have prepared and served without the sauces but they just DID NOT WANT TO. I came with a big party, couldn't eat a single thing and left very upset. My companions seemed to like their food. Server felt bad about it but if the kitchen doesn't care, what's he going to do about it, it's not his fault.

Our table of four had wonderful pre-lunch drinks. They have a range of drinks and my strawberry daiquiri was the best virgin drink I’ve ever had anywhere in Europe, America or Africa. We had a recommend the seafood platter at 484.Pula. it is so big. It really is a main dish for three people. I had chicken.Melina’s . It has four versions and I chose.Zambeziana Coconut. What an amazing dish with coconut rice on the side. I can’t wait to go back again. Lovely side salad and as other reviewers mention the French fries are. Especially well done. The highlight was our wonderful waitress. Nonofo Kanyote. We all talked about her sweet personality. The decor is bright & colorful with lots of commissioned arts and crafts around this very large restaurant. It has extensive vegan choices and has a large outdoor patio.

I had visited Mozambik for a meal recently. The ambience was pleasant, I loved their decor and the lighting outside the restaurant gave it a lovely vibe.

Coming to the food, the menu had a vast selection of seafood and chicken dishes. We ordered the hake zambaziana and medium garlic prawns. I was looking forward to trying the Zambaziana sauce, as it is their signature sauce, but I found it too spicy to really enjoy the dish. The flavor was good and I liked the hint of coconut, but I would really prefer if they let us choose the spice level. I found the peri-peri sauce to be too spicy as well. Apart from the peri-peri sauce there were no other sauces available, which was disappointing as there should be a variety of sauces at different spice levels to cater to everyone’s tastes. Coming to the garlic prawns, I liked the creamy garlic sauce, but found it to be a little bland. We also got the fries and mash potatoes on the side. Loved the fries, hot and crispy topped with a tasty spice mix, but found the mash potatoes to be quite bland and not creamy enough. I had to add salt and pepper to give them some flavor.

Overall, the food was okay. While some dishes were too spicy others very bland. I’d prefer the dishes to be more balanced. Another issue was that many items on the menu, even their signature items, were not available which was a let down. However, the food arrived quickly and service was good, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Having said this, I did enjoy my meal at Mozambik. While it wasn’t the best, I’m willing to go again and try more dishes to give the restaurant...
