I am a Stout lover. I spent 20 years in Longmont Colorado, raised my kids there, and enjoyed lots of Nitro Milk Stout from Left hand brewing, the reference (chief Niwot) should prove me an authentic Coloradian. Tonight I enjoyed a couple of Mad Brews Stout, and the flank steak and fries dinner and I'm completely blown away. Absolutely delicious. Period. I write a lot of food reviews, but I'm seldom this excited. The Stout was perfect, I'd say incredible. My steak was perfect, perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked. When it comes to price/performance type metrics, mad Brews deserves a Six Star rating. I was a bit apprehensive at first, as there were only a few customers in the restaurant, but I'm sure glad I gave it a try. I chose this place based on strong reviews (perhaps local), but my experience was really disappointing.

I ordered the picanha steak medium, but it came out well-done, thin, and lacking flavor. It wasn’t tender - some parts were so tough they were hard to chew - and about half of it was just fat.

I’m allergic to the only side that comes with the meal. While they didn’t bring it out, they still charged me for it and didn’t offer any replacement — so I paid for something I couldn’t eat, with no alternative provided.

Excellent food and excellent service! Started by ordering drinks - dragonfruit caparinha and a freak lab beer (fruity taste) - both delicious. The waiter took the time to explain the cuts of meat and gave suggestions as well (we ordered a cut of meat instead of an item from the menu which comes with fries) as well as linguica angus carapreta (sausage). We chose the picanha, which was cooked to perfection. It came with 3 sauces; Farofa, Chimichurri and a salsa. We also ordered a mad hot chili peppers burger which came with fries - delicious too!
