I do not pretend to know every japanese restaurant in town, but I know my fair share & the suahi papaia vilaboim is between the 3 best sushi restaurant I’ve ever been worldwide. where to begin? the raw fish is of superlative quality as you can see it in sashimi & traditional niguiri sushi. how many restaurants mask low quality fish with ‘exotic’ ingredients... not here! the gourmet sushi selection is another asset. I’ve seen some of these glorious recipes in the hyped kan suke. here they are better. not to mention the warm & friendly reception of all personnel here. the saké selection is another incredible asset with its variety & high quality japanese sakés. everytime I discover a new one, from the dryest to the fruitiest. the not so good news: the last redecoration of the restaurant was not completely successfull & it will need shortly a revamping. expensive, but not delirious. worth every penny with its high quality ingredients & skillfull artistry in the making of perfecly sized sushis. EVERY foreign friend I introduced to this restaurant, from london to new york, from paris to hong kong, from madrid to singapore, say that they never had sushi as good as here at the sushi papaia. this must mean...
Read moreOne of the best sushi's I've had in a long time. Every piece was incredibly fresh and perfectly cut melting in my mouth. Smooth and light saque. Service was great! Our waiter was very helpful and honest. Since only two of us were eating sushi he suggested we ordered a smaller version and an appetizer which was perfect. Love that!
