had a fantastic dinner at Churrasqueira Grill & Beer, tucked away on Rua Vinicius de Moraes in Ipanema. The setting strikes a nice balance between relaxed and refined, with simple decor and a welcoming atmosphere that feels authentically carioca.

We decided to taste a bit of everything—starting with a Tomahawk, followed by a fraldinha (skirt steak), along with a few other cortes queijos and petiscos. The Tomahawk was impressive: thick, well-seasoned, and cooked just how we liked it—juicy and flavorful. The fraldinha was tender, rich in taste, and deliciously complemented by the sides. Every cut we tried demonstrated care in preparation and reflected the quality they aimed for.

Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The staff offered solid recommendations and made sure each dish arrived at the table when it should. The beer selection was refreshing and paired nicely with the hearty meats—just what you’d want after a day exploring the city.

Hands down the worst service & restaurant experience. They took over 2 hours to fully serve us everything we asked for when 5 other tables who got sat and ordered after us had gotten their food before us. I ordered the salmon and it came with hair on it. I told the waiter and he said they would remake it and have the order compensated. Since the only serve 2+ portions, I told him I would keep the second salmon so that they didn't have to remake it and only charge me for half. He insisted to remake it so I let him. Once the bill comes we have a big fight over the salmon bc they wanted us to pay for it after the waiter told us it was going to be compensated. After some back and forth they ended up taking it out of the bill but only after they had taken back the left over salmon I had asked them to take to go. Food was alright, not worth the price. Worst restaurant experience I’ve had since arriving in South America. Asked for the sirloin steak for 1 but was recommended the 500G option for two but half for one. Ended up being completely ripped off and charged $30 more than the initial sirloin I wanted. When I asked for fries the waiter told me the deep fat fryer wasn’t on and gave me raw potatoes and And slices tomatoes instead.
