First impression: nice ambience but nobody to greet you, take your coat and show you your table. We had to look for the waitress ourselves.
Then, while eating the starter, I wanted to write that this is the best Bulgarian restaurant I have been to. Almost European standard. Very well presented, a bit oversized dishes. Nice touch of Asian cuisine, in general a good wine list, with few (not many) open wines. The red wine (Pinot noir) was definitely too warm.
The main course arrived while I was still finishing my starter, which was rude and not adequate in such restaurant. Instead of a medium-rare steak, I got it well done. Alright, I didn’t want to throw a scandal and ate it. The presentation of the shrimps was not very good. Actually, why do they serve winter menu in April?
In the end, the check arrived and unfortunately, this spoiled completely the overall relatively good impression. The meat was charged per weight which we were not told before ordering. Also, 9lv for a bottle of water is a bit too much. The bread that in normal restaurants would be complimentary was charged too. Instead of an excuse or at least a smile the waitress put herself in a defending position (in a sense that the customer is stupid).
Overall a mixed experience, not a very friendly welcome and - the most - left the restaurant with a feeling of being a bit tricked in the end. This...
Read moreWe enjoyed few times before at restaurant Valerie and was perfect . This time we was really disappointed First, the service wasn’t at expected level. restaurant was full and the waiter wasn’t enough for all the tables he had to serve, we have to stay with empty glasses. He wasn’t good enough to offer and to explain the menu and the wine list Second , but the main. The cost of the mineral water was 11 BGN per 750 ml bottle !!!! This was a robbery !!! The waiter not said nothing about that it and try to bring as much water as he can . We understand the price in the end when we ask for the check . Imagine , the water is much expensive than beer’s and all kind of beverages. on the price of 4 bottles of water you can buy very good bottle of wine . And also we had feeling that we pay more than we drank . For six people we paid 670 bgn. In that bill we paid 120 bgn for water !!!! . Just to understand for the rest of 550 we had 6 main courses , 6 salads and 5 bottles of wine .!!!! I love this restaurant , and because of that I writing such a big review …....
