Iâve been to this restaurant twice, and both experiences were terrible. The first time, the waiters were very rude and unwelcoming from the moment we walked in, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought it might have been a one-off. Unfortunately, the second visit confirmed it wasnât.
As soon as we stepped foot into the entrance of the restaurant, a waiter actually shouted at my brotherâs 2-year-old child just for calling her father to ask to get out of her buggy â completely uncalled for and shocking behavior. Not sure if itâs because we arenât Bulgarian or if thatâs just how they treat customers, but the attitude was extremely unwelcoming.
It only got worse from there. They served my vegetarian aunt beef tongue instead of the mushroom dish she ordered - a serious mistake and didnât even apologize when we pointed it out. Another dish was also wrong because two items on the menu have the same name (âDjanumâ), even though we clearly specified which one we wanted. When we tried to explain the issue for over 10 minutes, the waiter refused to listen and eventually yelled at me to âcalm down.â
Iâm assuming the room without music is meant to be the non-smoking area, as we asked specifically for a child-friendly dinner at 6:30 pm. However, the staff were actually smoking on the side â possibly even in the kitchen â because every time the door opened, the smell of cigarettes filled the room. It was completely inappropriate and unpleasant, especially with a child present.
To make matters worse, they assigned us one of the few waiters who didnât speak English well, which made communication even harder.
Overall, the staff here are the most unprofessional and disrespectful Iâve ever encountered. Definitely wouldnât recommend this place- especially if you expect even basic...
Read moreOverall we had an enjoyable evening here. The view, the atmosphere and ambience were all very pleasant. The starters were very tasty and presented well. However, for an expensive restaurant in Sofia there were a number of things we were not happy with, in particular the service was slow and not up to standard. Beware of when you receive bill - they may mention that "the service charge" is not included??!!
Our waiter recommended one of the steaks to share, so we accepted. We were not asked how we wanted it cooked and it arrived very well done, overcooked and tough (199 BGN).
We asked for fried chips but we were told we should have the wedges.
Only on arrival were we asked what we would like to drink and one of the water glasses provided was cracked.
Our baklava dessert order was delayed. Our waiter said that our order had been stolen by a colleague for another table so he had now re ordered one for us!!
We asked for the bill, confirmed we were paying by card, and on completion of the transaction our waiter said âthe service charge was not includedâ, to which we asked âwell how much is the service charge?â and he said âhow much you want! Usually 10%â. So I can only assume that this was a request for a tip, which then required an additional transaction. He said âIf youâd mentioned it earlier it could have been added to the first transactionâ. We didnât know about it earlier!!!! Weâre still unclear of the service charge policy. Unprofessional.

Read moreWe were welcomed softly. We were shown to our in advance reserved table. Inside, the atmosphere was set with a light, nightly tone. A beautiful interior with a breathtaking view of Sofia.
We ordered our meals and enjoyed appetizers, followed by steak and beer. Simplified: the food was delicious!
When talking about service, the staff were polite, patient and the food came soon after the order was made. Despite that, I would not say that they did anything outstanding, therefore I do not see a reason to give more than 3 stars. I do not complain about my experience.
When we arrived, the atmosphere was calm and relaxing, we could talk easily to each other and enjoy the meals we were given. After we finished eating, the night program started, with singers and dancers performing on the stage. It was a glamorous experience! To add on, there were a lot of people dancing, which contributed to the setting.
Personally, I hate smoking. Smoking of any kind, be it cigarettes or electrical ones, I am an anti-fan. I despised the smoke coming from the sides but it is not unusual for restaurants to tolerate smokers as it is not forbidden in Sofia. Therefore the personnel are not responsible for the smokers around but I simply disliked this part.
I would love to...
