Original Review It was Valentine’s Day, a wonderful time to go out and celebrate with the people you love. We know it’s a busy time, so we made reservations for 7:00pm.
We have been there before and we’re in the mood for steak. The restaurant was decorated nicely, and couples were taking it all in. That’s where the positive comments end.
At about 7:15pm we were able to order. No problem, we know it’s busy. However it took 3 requests to get the water to the table, the wine came out faster.
7:45pm still no food, but a waitress brought a few crackers. We asked how things were going, and she said she would check. No word back.
8:15pm still no main dish, but did receive some salad and mushrooms that we ordered. Ok, I guess. But still no entree.
8:30pm. I ask waitress again about status, still no steak and additional items. She said she will check. I asked her to please come back as soon as possible with an updated.
8:35pm. Waitress said they are still working on it. I decided that it’s probably best to leave. Please give us the bill and we will pay for what we ordered.
8:40pm manager arrives. Apologizes and says steak will come out soon, to please wait. I told her that we can no longer wait as we have another engagement soon. She says she will check on the steak.
8:42pm manager returns and says steak was accidentally sent to another table. There was a mishap, apologizes again. She asked if we can wait another 10 minutes. I said, I’m sorry, we’ve been here since 7:00pm. We would like to leave. 8:45pm. She comes back with the bill for the wine and other items. We pay the bill and leave.
No discount for our troubles, no coupon because it was a holiday. Instead, just wanting us to stay and wait longer.
High end, expensive restaurants need to train their staff to solve problems when they happen, not try and avoid them and pretend they never happened. I prefer not to write reviews like this, but my hope is that someone learns about these mistakes so that they don’t happen to anyone else.

Read moreDon't normally like mixed menus, but Rahu does the Khmer, Western and fusion dishes very well. One of the very good restaurants in Phnom Penh which enjoys Chinese and French culinary influences as well as its own unique Indochinese Khmer traditions. The oysters are fresh and always a good bet. US and Pacific oysters are offered. The Pacific oysters are Vietnamese - firm textured, mild top notes allows for more liberal use of condiments, the briny ocean coming through in the base notes after the first bites. There's an excellent bar, good accommodating bartenders - the different original cocktails using local ingredients are worth trying. Good non-alcoholic selection available on menu. Modern but cozy set up. Clientele a good mix of business diners, office executives, friends...
Read moreThis restaurant is located right next to Exchange Square and is close to the American Embassy. During the day, it is crowded with embassy officials and office building staff. At night, it is crowded with fashionable Cambodian groups. The food is delicious and available for families and couples. The staff is very friendly, the service is fast and the steak is delicious. There is also an arrangement menu of Japanese food, so I think anyone can use it regardless of nationality. However, the parking space is still limited for guests, but we can use parking at...
