Jollibee — Restaurant in Alberta

Don’t get me wrong, the food is great. I’m giving the low ranking for my experience today, my birthday.

We came here because my yooungest like their spaghetti. Anyway, essentially we came, I ordered several items, paid for it, got our drinks, they asked for my name and no receipt was given. I assume since they have my name, they’ll just call it out. There were not that many customers anyway.

After awhile, there was only one food tray at the counter waiting to be claimed, and they were calling out the order number. I came up to them and asked if it was for “Christian”, because I told them they never gave me a receipt. Instead of confirming their sales order details for names, they instead had me repeat the items I ordered outloud. This is where the experience went down the drain.

First of all, we were the ONLY customer in front of them with the rest already eating; second, I find it insulting that they were assuming I’m trying to get a free meal by having me repeat my order. I could see how the front counter staff was trying to keep the order details firmly pressed against her body. This wouldn’t have happened if they were consistent with order taking. If you call out names, then do so. If they’re using that alarm disk thing, use them. Don’t have a mix of procedures that not only confuses customers but staff alike.

My wife and I are big fans of Jollibee’s fried chicken, as its unique spicy flavor sets it apart from other brands like KFC or Wow Chicken. Every time we travel from Calgary to CrossIron Mills, we make it a point to visit the Jollibee restaurant there. However, the experience at the CrossIron location has disappointed us on multiple occasions.

During our previous visit, we found the chicken to be extremely dry, and the spicy fried chicken we ordered lacked spice. We brought this to the attention of the store manager at the time. Unfortunately, on our most recent visit, the experience was even worse. The fried chicken was completely devoid of any spice, lacked moisture, had a very hard texture, and even had a slightly burnt taste to the skin.

In addition to the food quality issues, the cleanliness and atmosphere of the store also need improvement. The tables were not cleaned, the floor was dirty, and the air conditioning was blowing directly onto customers, making it uncomfortably cold. This not only caused the food to cool down quickly but also negatively impacted the overall dining experience.

We truly hope these issues can be addressed promptly to maintain the high-quality standards we’ve come to associate with Jollibee.
