I'd start this by wholeheartedly acknowledging that we were the ones who requested an outdoor patio spot upstairs, so we do share the blame with the seating arrangement. That said, I think it would have been great if the person who greeted us downstairs could've provided a heads up that the upstairs patio only had bar-like seating with countertops that were about chest-height (I'm 5'8").
We were seated promptly which was nice and we were provided a couple of glasses of ice water and the menus fairly promptly, but that's where the promptness stops entirely.
We had to wait for the server to come by, which really exacerbated the windy conditions outside while we were waiting, but she eventually came out and took our orders. Thankfully my partner had the thought to just order food while we ordered drinks so that we could get the ball rolling.
Once the orders were in, the waiting continued. We didn't count the time because we were essentially too cold to hold our phones, but we noted several times that the drinks were taking a long time. Then we recalled the person downstairs telling us they had two bachelorette groups in, but surely if they had the space to seat them, they'd have the staff to serve them (and others?).
So the food comes first, which looked great and when the person bringing our food says he's going to come back with a soup spoon, I kindly ask about the drinks and again, we're told the bar is backed up because of these two bachelorette groups.
So we start eating and our server comes back with the drinks. No real acknowledgement for the delay and I don't recall an apology for the delay either. The server was friendly enough, but my partner also noted the virgin caeser as extremely spicy, so she would've appreciated a heads up from the server as other restaurants have done for her before if that's normally how it's made, but I suppose it could be due to these two bachelorette parties again.
In terms of the food... being in Alberta only for a few days and leaving tomorrow, I needed to finally have a steak, so that's what I ordered. Though it was a brewery, I thought cattle country must mean good steak and a kitchen that knows how to cook it! Well, the steak was cooked too long and I had asked for medium rare. This was not only a surprising disappointment, it was also frustrating as it meant having to sit out in the cold to wait longer for it to be remade, but for a $56 steak, I wasn't about to have one that's overdone.
Well we went into flag down the server (in case she was going to be a whole before checking in again) and she took it in to have it remade. Second steak was closer to medium rare, but I almost wish they had just replaced the steak because the second remake of the plate had less vegetables and sides than the one I had sent back. However, given the experience, I just promptly finished it so that we could get back to our Airbnb.
There was an acknowledgement for the steak issue by the server, but nothing more. I actually quite enjoyed their Better Lemon Soda and was going to ask about putting them in my checked luggage to take back to BC, but we were so cold and uncomfortable that we just decided to head out quickly.
I'd like to believe this restaurant is great and that two bachelorette groups wouldn't completely throw them off their game, so perhaps I'll try them out again the next time I'm in town, but I would definitely expect more in terms service and food for a $120...

Food - no complain there, I love their Papa’s pepperoni pizza, they added chili oil in there and I love it! My wife and kids loved their Boar Bacon Udon Carbonara and beef brisket sandwich!
Service - Our server is good, not amazing but definitely decent. But the problem is, we waited 30mins to have a server. We got there at noon, was seated right away, then we waited, waited, and waited. We finally ordered our drinks maybe 15mins in, I asked our 1st server if we can get some water as well after ordering drinks, she told us of course. By around 12:30ish, still no water nor drinks. I finally jokingly ask the person who looks like a manager if they are short on staff( I’ve heard staffs talking about it) it’s been 30mins and we still have no water, he immediately brings us water and around the same time another server arrives told us she is our server. So we reorder our drinks and got them within 5mins. Going back to why I asked them if they are short, for the 30mins that I wait, I’ve been trying to find my server at that time, but she is always busy carrying out other ppl’s order, I keep hearing different servers complaining to a person whom I guess is the manager that “we are short one staff”. Maybe don’t do that next to a table next time?
I thought about leaving, but a few friends have told me they really like the food and beer so I really want to give it a try. Maybe next time tell your servers try not to complain right next to a table if you guys are short on staff again. Will I go there again? If I really crave for their pizza again, maybe? But there are a few other distillery in Canmore, I will probably choose them before...

We recently visited The Grizzly Paw Brewing Company – Tank 310 at 310 Old Canmore Road, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The visit began downstairs with drinks, where we sampled the Badass Betty and the Apples to Oranges—both were excellent introductions to the brewery’s creativity and balance. The Badass Betty had a bold, smooth finish with a little hop attitude, while Apples to Oranges delivered a refreshing twist that was crisp and citrusy without being overly sweet.
Afterward, we were seated upstairs by a stunning picture window overlooking the majestic Rocky Mountains and the second-story brewing area, where the tanks and brewing activity added a cool industrial vibe to the cozy setting. Juan, our server, was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable—he made sure we were well taken care of throughout the evening.
For starters, we shared the Baked Cheese on Toasted Bread, which was rich, comforting, and perfectly paired with a sip of beer. For mains, we tried the Brisket Sandwich, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender and packed with flavor, and the Butternut Red Pepper Soup, which was velvety, warming, and complex in all the right ways. The highlight for me, though, might have been the Butternut and Blueberry Salad—a unique, colorful, and surprisingly hearty mix that worked beautifully.
Everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and served with a backdrop of brewing magic and mountain scenery. Whether you're a craft beer enthusiast or just looking for an elevated casual dining experience in Canmore, Tank 310 delivers.
