Ok, I drove 40 min from Beaumont to this restaurant hoping to enjoy goat meat pepper soup. I ordered and patiently waited 'cos they were busy. My food arrived after 40 min. Unfortunately I was so disappointed and disgusted. It wasn't goat meat but canadian tastless beef from Walmart or similar grocery stores. It was like they just boiled the meat and served it. Pepper soup has it's unique taste/smell. This one was tasteless, and the smell was nauseating like the smell of undone beef. They filled the plate with water to the brim and few pieces of the beef. Waste of my money and time. Looked like 1 piece of meat cut into multiple micro pieces and over filled with water. WORST FOOD I EVER ATE IN MY 50 YEARS LIFE.
I googled and found "Tantalizers African Express" 9min away. I went there and they were busy as well but I got my goat meat pepper soup in less than 20 min. Wow, as the server was coming, I could perceive the aromatic flavor and my hunger that was quenched by the terrible beef soup koultures served me, immediate went ballistic. They even served it with side white rice. I enjoyed myself and ordered...

I usually order from Koultureās and always get their jollof rice with beef (mild spicy) ā itās my go-to. This time I placed an order for pickup for my girlfriend, and the lady on the phone said everything was good. I drove over 30 minutes to get there, only to be told when I arrived, āOh, we switched it for white rice, is that okay?ā
That was really frustrating. If they knew they were out of jollof rice, they shouldāve called or said something before I drove all that way. I told her we already have white rice at home ā thatās why I ordered jollof in the first place.
Instead of apologizing, she caught an attitude and gave off really bad vibes. Honestly, it made me not even want to reorder because it felt like she didnāt care at all. I didnāt do anything wrong, but somehow I was treated like the problem when they messed up my order.
Itās sad because I actually liked this place before, and I know the owner is trying ā but itās the workers who are ruining the experience for customers. Iāll most likely never be coming back here again ā...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a tourist in Edmonton, longing for a taste of Nigerian or at least food, it was enough to read online about a restaurant that serves "West African" food. But to get to Koultures and find it was actually Nigerian food was exciting!
My family and I eagerly looked forward to the meals, hoping they would be close to Nigerian taste. Boy, were we so wrong! It wasn't close, it was a great hit on the bull's eye!!! The handsome, amiable and unassuming chef totally nailed it! Nigeria came alive in the heart of Edmonton!
The dishes were so fantastically prepared, and this is coming from someone who is not only particular about food being well prepared, but one who cooks too! The portions were delightfully generous, we were certain we would have several packs of food to go home with, but the food was way too tasty that we struggled to go home with barely anything!
Going to Koultures was one of the highlights of this trip for my family. We would definitely recommend Koultures to anyone who loves great food in a welcoming environment served by wonderful people with an altogether beautiful...
