Went to Subway, and was met with a new scam that apparently is going on everywhere. I paid for my $30ish dollars for my friend and I for 2 foot longs. Paid with debit, and just as the transaction went through and the machine said payment successful the employee started acting weird and said that he didn't get a receipt and that we had to pay again. I said that the payment went through and even showed my bank transactions to him to prove that it went through on my end and he still argued that it didn't. He assured me that the money would 100% go back into my account in 24-48 hours, so I asked for his name and phone number to call if it didn't, which he gave to me and I paid again. Waited 4 days, maybe 5 I can't remember, and the money never showed up so I went to the store to ask for it back and the minute I walked in the door he said something about it did go back into my account which I had to show him my bank transactions proving that it didn't , and he said "well I can't put it back on your card I have to give it to you in cash" in an extremely rude tone and gave me my money with a dirty look. Be careful everyone, as this isn't the first time I've heard of this happening in Bancroft, just at other stores owned by these...
Read moreI would have given this establishment a full five stars except for one issue.
First, let me say that the owners have renovated and updated the entire interior during the pandemic. The update was absolutely needed, and especially so with regard to the washrooms. I have been using this as a place to get a quick lunch for years now when passing through Bancroft on business.
The ingredients are fresh and comparable to any other Subway in Canada or the USA which I have visited many during my travels.
The service is great and staff is always super friendly.
The dining area was clean (floor, all tables and chairs, and the garbage area) on my last visit with all the tables neat and tidy as well. The new seats are also comfortable and the atmosphere quiet and cool to relax in.
The only issue I had was with the cleanliness of the washroom I visited after being on the road for over 6hrs. The toilet was left unflushed, the handle was partly broken off of it, and the floor was wet and dirty. Not exactly inviting nor an appetizing way to start a meal break.
For the record, I have found this establishment to be the best place to grab a quick, affordable, and tasty lunch...
Read moreIf this is how subway maintains standards I can see why they're closing restaurants! Ordered a salad on the app, which i do 2-3 times per week at other subways around ontario. When i picked it up, the bowl was only half full.. there was no lettuce, none... I asked for extra... there was no spinach.. at all.. I asked for extra.. I got 1 triangle of cheese.. should have been 4.. no tomatoes, at all... I asked for extra.. and there were green. Peppers which I requested no green peppers. But wait, it gets better.. when I went back in to ask them to add the items that were missing, the manager came storming out of the back and without even looking at it, said that's the quantity we put in salads.... 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ So when I pointed out there was no lettuce or spinach... in my SALAD.. he put on a glove and used his finger to dig around looking for them.... 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ and he didn't understand why it's not ok to use your finger.. even with a glove on. After some yelling back and forth I finally got my missing items.. what a joke.. Will be calling their head office standards...
